{My DT work for DS4J}
Hello friends! How is it going on your end? I just started to feel under the weather yesterday. It was starting to rain as I brought in a whole lot of laundry. Rain water is just not good on me. This minute as I type this I have slight fever and sore throat. I must not mention the body aches too, sighh. My husband told me he will buy take away lunch and dinner so I don't have to cook and just rest. I love my man so much!
Enough rant. Okay, let me take you to Digistamps4Joy right now. New images are released today here. They are stunning images drawn by Margy and Jen Lee. The design team created fabulous creations with hope to give you ideas on how to use the digi images in your creations.
I made an art journal using six pointsettia digi image which I printed and fussy cut.
I was highlighting the flowers by adding some black watercolors near them but wasn't aware they absorb the colors and ruin the flowers in a way.
Can you see that the black invaded the leaves? {{{Aarrgghh}}} I think, think and think how to fix it or should I print another pointsettia, fussy cut and glue down making it 3D?!
But I was lazy to do printing job again because it was done the day before and the printer was put back to its place. Are you like me sometimes, you know just feeling lazy at certain period or is it just me? Lol.
So, as you have maybe figured it out, I came with doodling idea using black gel pen and that itself highlights the flowers even more. I had so much fun doodling and scribbling away.
I love the success sentiment by Pablo Picasso which I am always diligent to find on internet, type it and print it. I love to have wise wisdom quotes a lot in some creations.
Doing the background was an interesting process. I love texture and to start with, I used a ply from napkin paper to paste on the pages using pva glue. Then I brushed off the napkin paper with homemade clear gesso and blow dry with heat gun. Next I highlighted some spots with white gesso. For additional texture, I cut lace fabric into small pieces and adhere on the journal.
The background was colored and splattered with watercolors.
When I was satisfied with the background, I focus on flowers composition. I kept changing them from one place to another to please my eyes.
Well what do you think of my flowers placement?
Three more close-up shots:
I sincerely hope you have enjoyed my lengthy post today and may you get a bit of inspirations to doodle in your art journal if you like that.
