Thank You Friend "Mixed Media Tag" @ DS4J

{My DT work for DS4J}

Hello everyone! Wish you a happy Saturday!
It's raining here {day by day once again and I have not been gardening, sigh}. I've been meaning to re-pot some plants from last week but the gloomy weather is not giving me good vibes to scrap the garden. Nevertheless I have been quite busy with the children attending sports day on Thursday and visiting their eldest sister at the boarding school yesterday. On the phone the night before, 'Alyaa sounded okay but reality speaking, she was sick but didn't say on the phone. I bought her 100+ and mineral water in big bottles, food supply and went to the doctor afterwards. Hopefully the meds would help her recover quickly because she has History paper to answer on Monday and the following week will be final exam.

Enough blab, lol. Let me continue with my main subject that is to remind you the mid-challenge at Digistamps4Joy is still running at the end of this month. The theme is Anything Goes as always with a twist Make Your Own Background
Click here to see creations by Team B girls and here to submit your paper creation/s.

I made a mixed media tag with background from paper strips on gesso and after it is dried, I applied texture paste through stencil. Finally I played with monochromatic blue watercolors on the surface.
A few close-up pictures:
The digi image is by Jen Leeflang. She is named Phantasi 1 {click here for info}. I colored her with different shades of watercolors using aqua brush.

That's it for today. Until I see you tomorrow.
Take care and thank you for dropping by.

Hugs and smiles,

Guest Designer @ The Outlawz

Hi everyone!

It is a privilege to be given the honor as Guest Designer at The Outlawz for
her Twisted Thursday challenge.
Thank you Angela Bonanno for the invite and wonderful opportunity.

I also wish to thank Mynn from MHK Designs who kindly sponsor me her beautiful vintage digital images to work with for my projects. I picked Blossoming digital stamps, printed them out and fussy cut to make a card and tags.

For my first creation, I created a simple mixed media card with less is more concept.
Sometimes it's nice to make something simple and pleasing.
What do you think?
Here are some close-up pictures:
Some layering from scratch and stamping.
As for these two tags below, I basically used paper scraps, gesso and texture for the background. After I let dry, I began messing them up with colors.
And a few close-up pictures:
My choice of colors is from a lovely plum passion mood board challenge at Berry71bleu.
Isn't that stunning?
I also wish to take my creations to
MHKDesigns : September/October challenge
Craft Stamper Magazine : Autumnal creations

I sincerely hope you find some inspirations from my projects.
Thank you for dropping by.
Have a good day.

Hugs and smiles,

ATC @ STAMPlorations

{My DT work for STAMPlorations}

Hello everyone and sending you good vibes on this day.
Today is my turn to share a mixed media project at STAMPlorations and I created a set of motivation ATCs. Take a peek here and see my fellow teammies' fab creations.
A few close-up pictures:
I adore texture very much as you can see {smile}. To make the background I used texture paste and Square Links stencil after the cardstock was adhered with some strips of papers, mesh, gauze and a layer of gesso.
The quotes are stickers from Rosie's and white gel pen used for doodling around the edges. I created the antenna with white wire and tucked in under a fussy cut Blossom Like A Butterfly stamped on heavy cardstock.
I made the flower using sakura punch simply by dabbing distress ink from Tim Holtz vintage ink pad, spritz water over the petals, squish them gently and open up, let dry and layered them all up with a gem in the center.
The color inspirations to create this project are taken from Mixed Media Place stunning mood board:
Meanwhile the Mixed Media October challenge is running until the end of this month.
Do join us.
That's it for today. Until I see you soon.
Have a nice day.

Cherish @ STAMPlorations

{My DT work for STAMPlorations}

Hello and happiness to you my friends! I hope life on your end is wonderful; same here. We are having a fantastic time at home cooking and eating most the time. Its our best happenings during long weekend.
Without further blab, here's my latest project for STAMPlorations Sunday Stencil of the month and that means another new mixed media challenge is open the entire October. We would love to see your work of anything mixed media except no cards please.

This layout is about my son and his little sister back in 2014 at my eldest daughter's boarding school. We were waiting for her to upload her stuff from the car back to her hostel so Afza was eager to wander about. 'Arif didn't want her to go alone so he accompanied her right at the end of the field and walked back to us. I thought that was photography momento not to be missed so I snapped some shots of them together for them to cherish in years to come.
A few close-up shots:
I used Delicate Links and Bubble Dance stencils to create some patterns and when dried, doodle the edges with gel pen.
I love butterflies and these Trendy Butterflies were stamped and fussy cut beauties were colored with Faber Castell watercolor pencils.
I used Big Boom Factory stamps and stamped them randomly {below picture} for additional interest. See how versatile STAMPlorations stamps can be {smile}.
The edges of layered paper mats were distressed with scissor and leave as is; my favorite kind of thing to do.
Some drywall tapes, gauze, threads, buttons, beads, doilies and glitters from my stash to finish up hopefully before 2017 knocks on my door. Doing major clearance throughout the next two months; looking for fresh air soon, lol.
I love this picture when they look so sweet together. They are best friends most of the time but the house can be a madness when he tease her and she screams out loud, sighhh.
This layout is made based on this pretty sketch from Scrap Club:
That's it for today. Thank you for dropping by and I hope you get some inspirations from my layout.
Until next time.

Asmah

Believe @ Scrap Africa

{My DT work for Scrap Africa}

Happy October!
I am sharing my new scrapbook page for a new mood board challenge at Scrap Africa.
You have one month long to join the challenge but try not to put off things until tomorrow and stay out of stress {smile}.
I find the winter wonderland colors are just so amazing I ended splashing up with blue in the end when the starting point was grey.
Here is the mood board.
Isn't that gorgeous? Living near the equatorial zone, I can only visualize how beautiful and interesting the winter atmosphere is. That is why I got carried away with the blues, lol.
I once again have to make confession that glitter is not my favorite but at times she does get my attention. For this project, I searched high and low for embossed powder but I have no idea where I place them, sigh. Obviously the glitter came to rescue...smile.
  Some glittery on Bazzill flower chippies.
I believe I can make a winter wonderland project hence the title and sentiment.
Hope you feel the same way too!

Have a pleasant week and stay happy.
Until I see you again tomorrow, stay happy.

Hugs and smiles,
Asmah
