A Tribute For Melissa Lane @ STAMPlorations

Hi everyone! I am here to share this special tribute for our only Melissa Lane who left us to be with her creator on October 2. I came to know Melissa when she joined the Mixed Media team the past two years. I often admired her stunning vibrant creations and not just that, she was always professional, prolific, persistent and pleasing.

Melissa loved butterflies and these beautiful flying creatures is chosen as main theme in remembering Melissa. Kindly visit STAMPlorations to read more about this special tribute. If you also wish to create a card and should you wish to send your card to Melissa's family, the link is there.

I combined a few elements that Melissa loved which are butterflies, red, flowers, stamping and art.
This is a simple three layering card with only stamping and ink.

 ~~~ You will always be missed Melissa ~~~
Time Is Precious (Mixed Media Art Journal) @ STAMPlorations
Hi everyone! I am so happy to share my newest project for STAMPlorations mixed media challenge this month.
~~~oo00oo~~~

But before I proceed, I have sad news:~

...Melissa Lane, my dear teammate passed away on October 2 leaving behind a husband and four children. She was 47. I already miss you Melissa and will always do.
Rest in peace...

~~~oo00oo~~~
I filled up a page in the mini art journal album made from brown shopping bag a couple years ago and still have few blank pages to splatter with paints in the next few days. Meanwhile, I hope you find this one interesting though {smile}.
Some more pictures:
 I started off with the empty background by swiping modeling paste over Circular Two stencil. When dry, I blended in two shades of green colors and added bits of black as I go with the flow. When completely happy with blending achievement, I put aside to dry {for tea break, lol}.
The Big Bloom Factory flowers were stamped way advance using Versafine Ink. I fussy cut them while I watched tv with my girls {bonding whenever possible with them because we are usually busy individuals on weekdays and family quality time is important, don't you agree? So I like to do something easy while sitting in the living room with the tv on. Don't like to waste time, smile}.
I gave the flowers colors by using Faber Castell watercolor pencils and blend in with water using brush paint. Yes simple as that.
I randomly stamped the background using Framed Oriole stamp for additional interest. For the flower stems, I picked one stamp from Artsy Border Maker set to create the look.
Lastly, I touch up the overall project with white paint to highlight certain areas and gave more depth to the flower edges with black watercolor crayon.
So there you have it. I look forward to see your Anything Goes project{s} at Mr. Linky
and please include stencil [any brand is fine]. Don't forget to stick this graphic below in your post to qualify for prize.
Remember me when you shop at STAMPlorations okay 😍😍😍
That's it for this day. I shall be back again with a recent project coming up soon.
Until I see you again, stay blessed and be blessed.
All About Fall [TAGplorations] @ STAMPlorations
Hello everyone! Finally I am back today after a long silence from blog land. Life suddenly became chaotic on my end with family matters and giving priority to my health the past months that I decided to give myself a break for a while. When all sorted and done and my eczema heal, I slowly do my garden once again, something that helps me sweat even more because exercise is not my thing {chuckle} therefore gardening helps me pull some muscles and sweat naturally.
I was lucky also when the STAMPlorations girls were given a break from design team work in the summer {thanks a bunch Shery Russ}. That gave me my crafty mind a chance to recuperate and collect ideas for upcoming projects {smile}.
Today we are back! Yes! This moment that the designers and I have been waiting for is here to share our ideas and creativity with you.
TAGplorations October challenge offers you All About Fall with a twist of red, gold and orangeCreate a project based on the theme with or without the twist. Your project(s) can be anything but it must have a tag (or tags) in it. Non-STAMPlorations products in entries are OK.
Easy peasy right? So without further ado, here's my tags presentation in mixed media art journal page.
 Some up close pictures:
 I stamped trendy leaves 2 randomly onto the dry painted tags. For additional interest I splattered white paints with brush.
 I adore butterfly so much since I was a kid and often present them in my projects. This is stamped using versafine ink and cut out neatly with sharp scissor. Then it was colored with watercolor pencils before highlighting it with white gel pen to make it more outstanding look. What do you think? Would love to hear your comments.
After I have blended some colors in the background, I swiped modeling paste over trees 1 stencil to form some patterns.
I used three different sizes dies in the manila tags nesting dies set to create three tags from 160gsm acid free drawing paper. The end result satisfy so much that I can't wait to share with you my upcoming tag projects for more ideas.
I hope you find my art journal page with tags interesting and inspire you to create and join this challenge before the end of October.
Remember to display the graphic above in your blog post to be eligible for the prize if you are selected as one of the winners.
