Intuitive Mixed Media Collage Art Journal @ DS4J

Hello everyone! I'm thrill to bits to share my new piece of art journal designed for Digistamps4Joy mid-challenge reminder. My fellow design team have created their stunning paper craft projects to inspire you so why not join us this month and stand a chance of winning some digital stamp images.

I took fairly an hour to complete this mixed media art collage in my art journal book.
It was pretty easy when I just let my mind free and put myself in fantasy not bothering of anything else except me and the paints.
A little close-up views:
 The optional twist for this challenge is to add ribbon or lace so I glued down a small piece of left over black lace from my sewing dress project last June.
The digital stamp used is Flower 2 which I printed two pieces and cut out neatly. I had one flower glued down in one piece while the other was cut into half and glued down from each other then layered with paper tear which I had painted earlier with autumn colors to let dry for this black gesso background art collage.
Taking my work into these challenges:
1. Crafty Creations : Ch#378 Anything Goes
2. Crafting By Designs : Give Thanks / Autumn Colors
3. The Outlawz : Monday Greetings Nov 12 - Fantasy
4. Creative Artiste : Ch#44 Anything Goes Mixed Media
5. Crafting With Friends : Ch#75 Anything Goes
6. Quick Quotes : Ch#93 Anything Goes
7. Unicorn Challenge : Ch#38 Use A Sentiment
8. Crafting From The Heart : Ch#228 Anything Goes

I am so excited to see your work before November says good bye. Have fun creating.
Until then. See you soon.

For Mom @ DS4J

Hello there! Wishing you great times on this beautiful day!
Over at Digistamps4Joy is an on going Anything Goes challenge with a twist For Mom in conjunction to Mother's Day celebration this entire month.

My team-B-mates have designed stunning cards for this special to inspire you and invite you to play along with us. Click here and link up your creation(s) before June set in.

Here's my card and tell me what you think.
This has been one of my favorite Misteri series by the artist Jen Lee. Click here to purchase this pretty Misteri Graduate.

The sentiment is from Ginger's House which I printed long ago but never use. I was looking through my files and came across this printed word of wisdom and figured it's just perfect for this project. Why not!

I hope you find this card appealing and let me know if you feel the sentiment is true {smile}.
Until I see you again soon.

~Happy Mother's Day~

Flower Spray Art Journal

Hi everyone! How is everyone doing? I am fine, thank you. Here's keeping myself busy with artwork and while de-clutter my craft boxes and purge a lot of things to keep and donate, I discovered several hidden items stored in tier drawers untouched for months. Many brand new mini albums, paper rolls, stickers, hmmm and the list goes on. It's hard decision to keep them all so I took the most wanted and donate to my children's friends whom appreciate. I was able to reduce quite a lot and gain storage to rearrange and organize better this time, lol.

Enough chat. Let me now take you to Digistamps4Joy and today we bring you five new digital images at the shop. Click here.

I created a page of art journal using Flower Spray digi image printed twice and fussy cut neatly before I glue them down.
 As always, I begun my artwork by coloring the background with watercolor paints. It's more of intuitive than real plan. I just go with the flow until I reach satisfaction.
 I did a bit of doodling in the background by drawing circles with the help of bottle cap and white Gelly Roll 08 Sakura pen I recently bought. I just couldn't get enough of the pen I end up doodling the flowers as well.
 I stamped the edges with rubber kitchen place mat that's been with me for some five years. Just look around for anything that has pretty texture made with rubber or silicone and you are ready to stamp away.
I love the end result after several sittings at making this on a lovely weekend between cooking, eating and looking at the growths in my garden. There are times I need to take a quick short break while creating because the creative mind get stuck all suddenly.

So there you have it for today on a beautiful Sunday. I hope my art journal will inspire you to create to your heart content.

Until I see you again real soon. Enjoy life and stay blessed.

Start Somewhere {A Tag Creation}

Hello crafty friends and visitors! How are your doing today? I am up and about now that I have gotten back my best buddy; my netbook precisely. Like I mentioned on my Instagram dated January 12, my best buddy didn't co-operate after I turn it on. It was cold and so was I {eeeksss}. Anyone who works from home definitely can relate to this situation. My most three essential equipment are my netbook, camera and tablet...oh, and tripod too. For all work purpose, I rely on my netbook. Basically I use tablet for IG and communication while on board. So when my best buddy fail to perform, somehow I was positive it must be the adapter's fault. Rest assured, it was after the pc guy had it checked. I must say that was the best day of my life this January! Thank God I can still use my netbook after purchasing a new replacement adapter even though it left a big hole in my wallet, sigh.

That's the reason I've been completely silence from blogging since my last post. Typing blog post on the tablet is my least favorite thing to do because it strains my eyes plus going back and forth for links to copy and paste isn't cool and eat plenty of time. I was not able to use my husband's laptop because he was outstation the week my netbook was under the weather...pfftt. So yeah, you bet I am a happy camper to be able to use my netbook right this moment. God is great! Life is back to good {smile}.

Enough blab. Let me now take you to this post that is long overdue. I created a simple mixed media tag as part of my DT work for Digistamps4Joy. Presently, the monthly challenge is running until the end of this month. As always the theme is Anything Goes and our dear Sami is hosting the challenge so she has a theme for you that is Your Favorite Color Combination as optional twist.
 I used Mandala 3 that you can get at DS4J shop. I printed the image to the size I want and cut it out.
 The quote is what I figured to be perfect for this month. After the long holidays in December plus the mishap of my netbook, it sure takes a long time to get back to making art work. So I just got to start somewhere, right?
 I just played with watercolors in the background after putting on a light coat of gesso and texture paste was used to form some diamond patterns through a stencil for additional texture. I didn't tie a string yet because I need to get that one I saw at the store. Problem is I didn't buy it the last time I went so maybe tomorrow I will go there again and grab it! I have other strings and ribbons so to speak but well, if you are like me you will understand the feeling, lol.
That is all for now. I look forward to see you at DS4J Mr. Linky before 31st January. Join us and stand a chance to win images from Margy.

Until then. Have a great day and thank you for dropping by.
Hugs and smiles,

For The Guys {Mid-Challenge Reminder} @ DS4J

{My DT work for DS4J}

Greetings from a cold atmosphere! The rain season will continue until year ends that will give my garden much happiness without me when we are away for vacation for some five weeks. I'm so looking forward to returning to my hometown and spend time with my beloved mom. I'm bringing home a pot of rose for her and hopefully it will flower while I'm at mom's place. I'm also looking forward to visit my dear father's graveyard. Lots of plans during our vacation. Meanwhile I have started spring cleaning and getting rid a lot of boxes yesterday. I still have one spot to de-clutter this weekend. Here's hoping for more energy, lol.

It's just unbelievable that 2017 will soon bid us farewell seeing that today is already middle November. Time flies eh. Without further ado, let me take you to this day happening at Digistamps4Joy. We bring you new inspirations for this month's challenge hosted by Desire Fourie. The theme is Anything Goes as always and Desire has chosen an optional twist "For The Guys" if you wish to create a masculine card.

I simply played with watercolors to create this clean and simple card:
 I used Cape Canary digital stamp that is available at DS4J shop.
The sentiment is from Ginger's House.
 That's it for today. I hope you will play along with us in this month's challenge. You could be the winner and win digi stamps from Margy the owner.

Thank you for dropping by and always remember that God is always with you.

Hugs and smiles,

Birthday @ DS4J

{My DT work DS4J}

Hi everyone! This is me bringing another card creation made as part of my dt work for Digistamps4Joy on a beautiful {busy} Sunday. The kids are on a week school break {{{again}}} in conjunction to Dewali celebration this coming Wednesday. I love it when they are off school for a long period of time giving me huge opportunities to do my work without looking at the clock to check if it's time yet to go go go {to school and pick them up...oh, you know, mom's job}.

So without further ado, here's my card using mandalas in the background.
My teammies created beautiful projects to inspire you for Anything Goes challenge this month with a twist Happy Birthday.
 I printed some different mandala designs ~ Flower 1Flower 2Flower 3 and Flower 5. I cut out each of them and spread them all on the background by overlapping the petals for realistic look if I can say that {?!}. What's your opinion?
 After I have glued them all down, I started coloring with watercolors and end up with white paint splatter.
I highlighted some petals by outlining the edges with watercolor pencils and blended with water. No purpose. Just for fun.
This is all for this moment. Stay tuned for next post in an hour time :)
See you soon and thank you for dropping by.

You Got This @ DS4J

{My DT work for DS4J}

Happy Sunday to you! I realized how each and every day pass by quickly from week to week I can hardly remember what I have done at times {sign of hectic schedule perhaps} but nevertheless I am very pleased with myself with what I completed and achieved day by day. This week I plan to finish off some sewing projects. I shall see {smile}.

What I am showing you today is a card made for Digistamps4Joy and today we bring you new releases at the shop. I used Mechanobug image on my card:
I wanted to highlight the digital stamp therefore I created a less is more background using gesso, texture paste, papers strips and watercolors.
 The image is drawn by Delyth who doodles awesome mandalas and other fabulous images. I printed the image and fuzzy cut neatly then only I started giving it colors.
I had so much fun making this card although at first I did have tough time deciding what to create with this mechanical bug. I love the end result and so does my youngest child who find this image looks like stegosaurus :)

~~ooOOoo~~
That's all I have for today. I thank you for stopping by and do play along in our challenge this month with optional twist happy birthday.

Loving Life @ DS4J

{My DT work for DS4J}

Hello and welcome to my blog on this beautiful Sunday. It's the last day of school break and my children return to school tomorrow and this third semester will be a hectic for each of them having lot of revision to do for final exams some time in October. They keep me wrapped up on that matter for sure besides being their 'cab driver' all day round. I am always on the run five days a week juggling mostly between routine schedules and my desire in artwork. Nevertheless I always look forward to weekend when I can at least rest my feet against the wall while my eyes read magazines as I lay down for a short rest.

Enough mom's blab {smile}. Let me now take you to Digistamps4Joy new releases at the shop today. Meanwhile take a peek at DS4J blog to view some wonderful creations my team-B-mates have created using the new releases.

I made two projects and here's a set of ATCs using Mandala 5 drawn by Delyth. I hardly use vibrant colors in my creation so I must say this is happy bold colors I chose to brighten up the grey weather we are having the past month up to now due to constant rain without warning and not fast enough to save my laundry under the patio at times {lol} and also hopefully my bright ATCs will cheer your life this September.
 And here a few close up pictures:
I printed some mandalas on a piece of 130gsm acid free drawing paper and fussy cut to stick on the finished background.
The quotes are from internet.
You may spot lines of fiber in the background. It's actually a piece of fine lace I bought from haberdashery a while back.
Next up is an art journal using a colored digistamp named Springbok drawn by the artist, Lyndall herself, This is my first time using colored digistamp from DS4J ever since I joined the team four years ago. It's a record, lol. I have always preferred black and white digistamps that allow me more choices and flexibility in creating but however when Margy gave us the colored version, I knew it saved me time from coloring this beauty and just focus on the background.
 Some close up pictures:
 I have two more pages left in the art journal book to finish up and created this one using combination of gesso and white watercolor paint to cover up the text in the pages. The pattern is made by using modeling paste through a stencil and let dry. Then I used two different blues and yellow watercolor paints to highlight the patterns by spritzing waters and let them run here and there until I feel satisfied.
 The deer was carefully cut out with scissor so I won't cut off the legs, yes it's very delicate.
I wish to play along in these challenges:
1. Art Journal Journey : Color In My World
2. Crafty Girls Creations : Ch#39 Anything Goes
3. Crafty Animals : Ch#6 Anything Goes (Must Have Animals)
4. Love To Scrap : Ch#101 Anything Goes

And that's a wrap from me. I sincerely hope you find my creations interesting and may inspire you to make a project or two this week. While you are it, we hope you will join us in the monthly challenge this month. The theme is always Anything Goes and there's a twist if you wish to play along that is warm colors. Sounds great eh? See you at Mr. Linky before September 30.

Thank you for dropping by and have a great week.

Good Cheers @ Digistamps4Joy

{My DT work for DS4J}

Happy Sunday everyone! I am so excited to share two projects with you today and our new releases at DS4J Shop.

For my first project, I played with watercolor paints in my art journal book using black and white mandala images drawn by our very new talented artist who joined the team at DS4J commencing today.
Let's welcome Delyth Angharad.

You can view more of Delyth's fabulous mandalas at her website.
For my project today, I used Flower 1 mandala.
Here are some close-up shots:
 I made textured background using texture paste through stencil.
 On both pages, I covered the side edges with serviette I recently bought. Firstly I glue down a ply of it then I brush off with light gesso.
 I printed the mandala into two different sizes on A4 paper and cut it out. Then I adhered them at the corners and used aqua brush to paint with watercolors. I also highlight the edges by making dots with black sharpie for interest.
 The background was painted with Deco Art paints and Buncho watercolors. I love to mix and match different brand of paints just for fun {smile}.

Next up is my second project that used a beautiful drawing by Jen named Thando.
I am a big fan of layers and have used three different pattern papers on my card.
I truly hope you have enjoyed my lengthy post today.
Do visit DS4J shop for more awesome images.
Also the monthly challenge is still running until the end of this month.
Come join us and stand a chance to win digi prize of your own choice from DS4J.

Thank you for dropping by and wish you a nice week ahead.
Hugs and smiles,
