Future ~ Scrap Around The World

Hi everyone! I am satisfied with my daughter's remark: so colorful! I know Anis really likes her layout this time. I have never done a colorful layout before so when I take a peek at Scrap Around The World blog for her new mood board challenge, I fell in love with the sketch and the rainbow colors. Here's my creation:

Supplies: Basic grey patterned paper, Kaisercraft stamp, VersaFine ink pad, Tim Holtz distress marker + ink, Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist, MS border punch, watercolor,
modeling paste

The beautiful sketch and inspiring rainbow:

...some close-ups pictures...
I live by this sentiment since my school days and now I'm passing it to my children.
I don't have a stencil so made my own from acetate and crop-a-dile the holes.

Thank you for dropping by. Have a nice day.

Art Nouveau One ~ Lady Anne's Stamp Challenge

Hi everyone! Here's to announce my last project for Lady Anne's Stamp Challenge that ends this month. It has been wonderful working with Lady Anne who has broaden up my crafting horizon. I shan't forget the day in March when Lady Anne approached me to offer the DT title in her stamp challenge group. Due to ill health, Lady Anne has decided to close her challenge site. So I hope you will take time to submit your paper project to this finale challenge to give Lady Anne support. The theme is as always Anything Goes.

This challenge is brought to you with sponsorship from Sweet Pea Stamps. Thank you Lynette for sponsoring this beautiful image "Art Nouveau One" drawn by Karen Middleton {click here for info}.  I made a center step card to highlight the image in CAS design.
Supplies: Sweet Pea Stamps digi image, Copic Sketch, Kaisercraft patterned paper+brown ink pad, modeling paste, VersaFine ink pad, sentiment from Lisa

I would love to take this card into these challenges:
1. Craft Your Passion : More Than 1 Fold (2/3)
2. Digi Make Over : Lots Of Layers
3. Kaboodle Doodles : Tribute To A Loved One (2/3)
4. MarkerPOP Blog : Anything Goes
5. My Craft Creations : Anything Goes (2nd entry)
6. The Paper Nest Dolls : PNDC#16 Anything Goes
7. Through The Purple Haze : Anything Goes (1/3)

English Rose Mini Dresser + Tutorial {DS4J Mid-Challenge Reminder}

Hello my lovely friends! I'm back again to remind you of DigiStamps4Joy mid-challenge.
This challenge is hosted by the talented Charlene. She challenge the design team and all of you to use three designed papers and three layers. Take a peek at DS4J blog for some inspirations from the design team B.

I have created a lovely keepsake for my little girl who will start pre-school in January 2014. This mini-dresser takes a while to make and lots of patience. I have used a digi image from DS4J entitle See-through Lady. Please click here to purchase her.
Supplies: DS4J digi image, Kaisercraft English Rose Collection patterned papers/sentiment/brown ink pad, Copic Sketch, cardstocks, cereal boxes
I thank Andrea&Clarissa for their wonderful tutorial. I did a bit of twist according to my preference by adding cut outs from cereal boxes for stability to prolong the life of the drawers and the entire dresser. I have also adjusted the measurement to fit the drawers as I realized that  the case of drawers needed extra centimeters for easy release. Thus I decided to make my own version of tutorial so it gives you some ideas how I did it.
1.  Six pieces of cardstock size 21x20cm for six drawers. Measure and score according to the picture above.
2. Cut according to this diagram and fold.
3. I have adhered strips of heavy duty cards from cereal box.
4. On the backside, I adorned the front of the drawer with patterned paper and sewn the bead button; you may also use a brad.
5. I adhered another piece of cereal card box and applied patterned paper in the drawer. This is optional though.
7. This is the tricky part where you must be sure to place the drawer on this cardstock for accuracy even though the measurement is given. Be sure you can easily slot the drawer in and out. Please take note that my measurement may not work for you; it really depends on the drawers you have made and you may need to adjust your own measurement to fit in your drawers even though they look all the same.
8. Adhere two cases together.
9. I have used glue on top of the cases to stack all six cases.
10. This is how it looks like after stacking them all up.
11. This is how I measure the backside for the mini dresser.
12. Cut off the four corners and adhered a piece of cereal box card. {Sorry the picture is somewhat misty; must be the rainy day that cause my poor photography, we are having monsoon season right now}
13. This is how the backside looks like...
 14. And from the front side...

 15. Here's my measurement for its top surface. {Sorry another blurry image; so anyway, that is 11cm [W] and 33cm [L]. Score at 9.7cm, 26cm and leave about 2cm to fold the edge like picture below}.
 16. Place the mini dresser on the cardstock and adhere. Take note that I have adhered a piece of cereal box card for longevity :)
 17. This is for the front view. You can do exactly like mine or decorate the top edge to your heart content. I did adhere cereal box cards before I applied patterned papers.
18. Tada...your mini dresser is ready for embellishment. I hope you find my step by step tutorial helpful. Feel free to question me in your comment if you have any doubts or email me if you like. I'm willing to answer your curiosity :-)

Take note that I adhered cereal box cards underneath the patterned papers on all sides. I have also made a platform from cereal box to place the mini dresser.
I enjoyed making this English Rose Mini Dresser and will make three more when I'm free. That is because my other three children want similar keepsake too. Plus my big sister and her girl are demanding the same...giggle. By the way, the name English Rose comes from the patterned paper collection by Kaisercraft. It's one of my earliest collection, a gift from my sister to push me into scrapbooking, lol.

I would to take this keepsake into these challenges:
1. Craft My Life : Non Card creations
2. Card Mania : Anything Goes
3. Craftin Desert Divas : Anything Goes
4. Craft Your Passion : More Than 1 Fold (1/3)
5. Digi Make Over : Lots of Layers
6. Kaboodle Doodles : Tribute To A Loved One
7. Lunagirl Moonbeams : Secret & Hidden Things
8. Make It Monday : Anything Goes
9. My Craft Creations : Anything Goes (1st entry)
10. Stamp and Create : Feathers or Leaves

Until the morning after. Have a nice day.

DS4J New Sunday Release

Hi everyone! How is your weekend? I am having great moments as we are having long weekend in conjunction to Deepavali celebration. I love public holidays, meaning to say school is off and and allow me more free hours to scrap and craft without having to leave the projects on and off in order to get everything in order just because. Even so, housework still has to be done no matter what but why they never end? Nevertheless, it gives me chance of freedom to make this swivel card for DigiStamps4Joy new Sunday release.

I'll be glad if you can spare a moment visiting DS4J blog and shop and take a peek at the design team designs for some inspirations. I have used a lovely Misteri lady entitle PAClick here to get her.
Supplies: DS$J digi image, Copic Sketch, sentiment from Ginger's House, washi tapes, Momoyo flowers, Kaisercraft brown ink pad

Challenge 79 is currently running and all you need are 3 patterned papers and 3 layers to make any kind of paper craft project to submit your entry for a chance to win digi images.

Hi everyone! I am back with my first layout at the end of the month. I haven't scrapbook for a couple of months as I was always busy making cards. I'm so glad my scrappy mojo kicks in this morning. I completed this page within three and a half hours and a little touch up some time later. Quite a record especially when I need to meet the deadline, hehe. I suppose I do better when last minute;  hehe. This is made for Kaisercraft October challenge (fourth Saturday). I often miss Kaisercraft deadlines so this time I make sure I'm in :)
This page features my children and their cousin way back in 2003 at my parent's house. The children were always playing together and I must say I love this picture of them sitting in my father's wheelbarrow. They looked so carefree and happy. What a sweet childhood memory.

This is the sketch:
 ...close-up pictures...
I made the white flowers from my son's tracksuit. There's a piece of cloth underneath the tracksuit and he doesn't like it so he told me to cut it off so he can wear it with comfort. He offered to thrash off the white piece but I said "No wait, I can make use of it". I love recycle!
By now you probably can tell my love for butterflies. I made my own stencil from acetate by punching it with Carla Craft punch and using my forefinger I applied modelling paste over my handmade butterfly stencil. There are so many possibilities in making your own tool, and it's very cheap too.
This sketch offers banners and it's always my cup of tea.
Supplies~ Kaisercraft: Bonjour collection/clear stamps/ink pad/rub on; Rangers distress ink, Tim Holtz distress marker, Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist, acrylic modelling paste, gesso.
I am happy with the end result of this layout and can't wait to start on another tonight. Until the morning after, have a great day and thank you for visiting me today.

Hugs and smiles,
