Here For You Always @ MHKDesigns

{My DT work for MHKDesigns}

Hello everyone! I am back again on this beautiful day with the first layout of the year I did as my dt project for MHKDesigns.

This is a page of my youngest daughter when she was about three years old. I love this girl because of her full support for my photography for scrapbooking purpose.
Some close up pictures:
 I used Get Well Soon and Blossoming digital stamp set that can be purchased at MKHDesigns Etsy Shop. I had so much fun fuzzy cut the flowers. The keyword for it is bucket of patience {chuckle}.
Some trims layered amongst paper strips and also tucked in the machined stitched zipper.
I was inspired by this lovely mood board brought by Dee Dee Catron before I decided on making this page. The pink flowers and butterflies attracted me most!
And I always rely on sketch to kick start my scrappy mojo {smile}. This one is based on awesome sketch by Laura Whitaker for Stuck?! Sketches:
I hope you like my scrapbook page and may it gives you some inspirations to create.

Until I see you again soon. Thank you for visiting and wish you a great weekend.
Hugs and smiles,

Mixed Media Tags @ STAMPlorations

{My DT work for STAMPlorations}

Happy Sunday folks! How is everyone doing? Fine I hope. I have been enjoying my weekend by gardening, cooking, doing housework and last but not least able to tackle on two wardrobe organizing and putting away nice pretty clothes for donation. It's a relief to be able to do it as I have been meaning to since last year.

Without further ado, let me show you a couple of mixed media tags made for STAMPlorations featuring Stencil Sunday #80.
Some close ups:

I sincerely hope you will get some inspiration from my creation today.
Perhaps you would be interested to play along with us and if you do, make sure you display this graphic below in your blog post to be eligible for the prize.

I'm off to these challenges:

Best Moments With You @ DS4J

{My Dt work for Digistamps4Joy}

Happy Tuesday my friends! I am back again with another post to invite you all and play along with us at Digistamps4Joy monthly challenge here. No theme...just Anything Goes. There's a twist though if you want to add some love in your project; the twist is "All About Love". This challenge is hosted by Debbie Ebat. I kindly ask for your prayers for Debbie's recovery as she is currently in hospital. We at DS4J pray and hope she will be discharged soon and feels better again.

For this challenge that will end on the last day of January, I have added a big Patch Heart digi image in the center of this paper bag mini album. I am making another mixed media mini album of ten pages at most. This is the start and hope to finish it before next month. Big aim!
Just like last year, I am still drawn to shades of blues. Black is what I can't miss in any artwork of mine. I still wonder when I will step out of my comfort zone {chuckle}. I know that is to happen some time soon this year, we shall see {smile}.
 This project took me some two hours from just empty brown paper bag to finishing touch of colors. I was pretty excited to get it started I refuse to leave the table. That's always the case when I get so engross. Don't you feel the same too? Engross I was that I forgot to play with modeling paste like usual in the starting process. Only after the paints dried, I realized something missing, duh! So out came the paste and stencils for dimensional.
For me, without gesso, texture, modeling paste, stencils, stamping, paints, bits and bobs and junks...I feel lost! What about you?
 I started by adhering paper strips from paper scraps. You often accumulate a mountain of them from previous projects I'm sure. Then I gesso-ed all of them and let dry in thin air. While waiting, I colored the patch heart with watercolor pencils.
 I simply let watercolors take over the page. I'm this close to finish off another set of watercolors before new ones come in. Can't wait for them to arrive!
So there! I hope you like my artwork this time. There are times I try to stay away from mixed media and paints when in sickness especially but it is so impossible. Art has always been my forte and it brings me so much joy and happiness no matter how painful the neck has been the past few days, by doing art, it keeps me in sanity.

Challenges I wish to enter:
1. Tuesday Throwdown : Your Favorite Medium
{watercolor has always been my favorite medium}
2. Inky Chicks : Anything Goes
3. Everybody-Art-Challenge : Anything Goes

I wish you good health and best wishes always.
Always stay true to yourself.

Hugs and smiles,

Butterfly Hydrangea @ DS4J

{My DT work for Digistamps4Joy}

Hello everyone!
I have been a little bit quiet the past few days because of stiffness in my neck, the actual reason of my delay for posting this new digital releases at Digistamps4Joy. I started to feel a little better yesterday when I did some exercises and today I feel good to look up and down as much as turning left without moving my entire body anymore the way robot does, you know. The discomfort I had in sleepless nights the few days before started dying last night. That is a good sign I believe. I still need exercise time to time. Also bath salts while shower and drinking ginger tea helps too. Relief!

I was supposed to bring this up on Sunday when some great images were released at DS4J online shop. Better late than never the saying goes so here is my clean and simple card or should I say less is more concept using Butterfly Hydrangea. The image drawn by Margy the owner of DS4J caught my eyes the minute I saw it; firstly because I love hydrangea and firstly again because I love butterfly {smile}.
 Aren't the butterflies form a beautiful flower? I decided to create a simple card with just sentiment leaving out embellishment because I feel that the flower alone looks beautiful by itself. But I admit, the neck pain was so discomfort and disallow bullet train movement if you get what I mean. The fact that I create on dining table means I have to get up for this and that. Instead, I just did one sitting and make a simple card (which isn't me at all...trust me because CAS and me don't synchronize at all}!! Then why create when in sickness? To keep me sane {BIG SMILES} =)
 So I printed the image on a piece of green patterned paper and colored with watercolor pencils. For extra interest, I distress the edges with scissor. Easy eh?
I'll be glad if you take your time to visit Digistamps4Joy blog and hopefully get some inspirations from my fellow teammates' fabulous creations with other releases as well.

Entering these challenges:
1. Creative Moments : Anything Goes
2. The Outlawz : Color Challenge
{the butterflies are so inspiring}
3. Tuesday Throwdown : Your Favorite Medium
{my favorite is watercolors}

Thank you for dropping by and have a good day.
Hugs and smiles,

Mixed Media Tags @ STAMPlorations

{My DT work for STAMPlorations}

Happy Sunday friends! Welcome to another showcase of my project I did as part of my design team work for STAMPlorations
The fabulous girls in the design team have all come together in making awesome projects to inspire you this starting month of the year as we invite you to join the January Mixed Media challenge here. You have until the end of this month to submit your creations but remember no cards at all.
These mixed media tags were made using STAMPlorations Dots and Dashes stencil.
The background was adhered with layers of paper strips and tissue paper. Then I gesso-ed the surface before I placed down the stencil and applied modeling paste for texture and dimension.
I used watercolors, my favorite art medium of all to color up the tags in some shades of browns.
The elements Kaisercraft die cuts and paper pad with sentiment in it. I also glue down buttons from my father's old coats and sequins.
I wanted these tags to look ancient so I figured the browns and a touch of black and gold work out. Tell me what you think?

By the way, do display this graphic in your submission post on your blog when you play along to be eligible for the prize if you are selected the winner:

Off I go now to enter these challenges:
2. Happy Little Stampers : Layers
3. Challenge Up Your Life : Selfmade Background / Patterned Paper

Until the morning after. Have a great weekend and enjoy life.

My New Journey in 2017 with MHKDesigns

{My DT work for MHKDesigns}

Happy New Year everyone!
I left the last few days of 2016 concentrating on my four blessings' school preparation for the new term commencing today.
There were lots of things to do: forms to fill up, bought school books, new school shoes, wrap up text books, stamp up their names on exercise books and hunting for uniforms to find the right size for my petite youngest child especially took two days!
{I swear I drove all over town and went from one outlet to another until we spotted this shop I never know existed, lol. Unfortunately there's no size and I figured its best to alter the waist by chopping off three inches down and sew back new waist rather than hunting from one place to another}.

Today they are back to school. My two girls are studying in boarding schools. My eldest daughter comes home once a month and my middle girl does so twice a month. My son and youngest daughter remain in my nest keeping me company. Without the two sisters, the little one is learning to be more independent {smile}. Looks like all my kids are busy again studying for their future life after the holidays we had altogether the past five weeks.

And me? Yes, I am back to my routine and finally able to play with paints once again.
My artsy mojo has return as well. Not to mention blogging moment.
Let me announce my news I've been holding back from the last day of November when I was offered by Mynn the owner of MHKDesigns to join her amazing design team.
...Thank you very much Mynn for the offer...

This is my first project for MHKDesigns: January Challenge; a set of vintage style ATCs.
A few close-up shots:
 I used Realistic Roses digital stamps for this project.
I printed two images and fuzzy cut the roses and leaves for layering.
This is this month's challenge inspiration:
Each month we will always have a photo inspiration so that anyone can play along, but if you use products from the MHKDesigns store, you can link up ANYTHING!

I'm taking my ATCs into these challenges:
1. 613 Avenue : ATG with optional twist Totally Technical
2. Get Creative Challenges : Anything Goes
3. Crafting By Designs : Anything Goes

I hope you get some inspirations from my ATCs this time. I look forward to see your creations at Mr. Linky before the month ends.

Happy creating and all the best into the year.
Hugs and smiles,
