Precious Moments

Hi everyone! I'm excited to share my double page layout which I haven't done for over a year I think. I have used very old photos about the three of us as new parents in Y2K and how carefree life still was at the time. We spent a day in my hometown Melaka also known as the Historical City and visited the historical sites in Bandar Hilir. 'Alyaa had no interest at all but she really enjoyed the day.

This layout is based on this sketch from Let's Scrap for its weekly sketch challenge:

Some close-ups:
A note for my eldest daughter:
I love the central of the flower below :-)

Back view of the famous Portuguese A-Farmosa fort:
Supplies: Pink Paislee patterned papers, EK Success punch, Kaisercraft butterfly stamp and ink pad, VersaFine ink pad, Momoyo paper flowers, my trusty sewing machine and others from my stash

Thank you for visiting and I value your comments.

Blooming Sweet & Hydrangea Tutorial

Hi everyone! Today's showcase is all about my new layout that holds a special place in my heart. Firstly the picture that keep many memories during our year end holidays with my Mother at her home. Secondly the hydrangea plant my mother, my children and I planted together in Mom's garden last November. My Mother and I love hydrangeas but mine is not as huge as hers. Perhaps some day my hydrangeas will bloom like Mom's.
This layout is based on a mood board and sketch from Scrap Around The World  blog challenge. I believe this is my first attempt at mood board and I just love it. I have so many ideas and want to use them all up but I am satisfied with my page filled with handmade paper hydrangeas as that's my focal point. I also flip the sketch to feed my mojo :)
...some close-ups...
I'm happy to share my secret tips...sshhh, don't tell....seriously, this is for someone who wish to have this and that but not now, not yet...oh well, but hey don't despair. Because that  particular MS flower punch is still in my wish list, I have used my old Carla Craft punch instead to make the hydrangeas...ta-da...the recipe is patience plus creativity...
By now you may notice my love for bricks. Most the time I use corrugated papers to make faux bricks, this time I used gesso by several stokes of brush. Dunno where I keep my bricks stencil so I did it free hand ;)
It's smooth handwriting over the gesso...perfect!
Supplies: Webster's pp, MS border punch, Carla Craft punch, Ranger's distress ink, Brilliance ink pad, VersaFine ink pad, Kaisercraft butterfly stamp and wooden flourishes, Prima flowers, Gesso, alphas, my trusty sewing machine, black gel pen, fancy edgy scissor, and others from my stash
I have so much fun designing this layout. I wouldn't have done this without SATW's beautiful sketch and the gorgeous bouquet of flowers on the mood board.

I am glad you stop by today and hope you find some inspirations from my tutorial. Truly appreciate your visit, thank you.

Fancy Fold with Handmade Flowers ~ DS4J Challenge You!

Hi everyone! Today's post brings me lots of joy because for the first time our dear Margy the owner and artist of DigiStamps4Joy gave us her design team members a chance to host our own challenges.

My challenge this fortnight is
FANCY FOLD AND HANDMADE FLOWERS
Challenge runs from June 24 to August 6
I would love to see any folding techniques you like; not just one crease but the more the merrier. Be sure to finish off your card with at least ONE handmade flower or more simply by using punches, dies, cut out, fussy cut, folded, crocheted, knitted, ribbon work or fabric.
The choice is yours. Take a peek at DS4J blog for more inspirations by Design Team A members.

I have used a beautiful image Retail Theraphy and it is available in the store.
Supplies: DS4J digi images, sentiment from Ginger's House, Copic Sketch, MS punch, Kodomo flower rubberstamp, Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist, VersaFine ink pad, Kaisercraft inkpad, buttons and bling

I love making my own background simply by stamping and misting.
I also love making my own flowers for my creations. For this card, I have made quick and easy flowers from DigiStamps4Joy 3D flower set which is available in the STORE
A while ago I made similar 3D flowers with stickles so here's showing the tutorial again.

DS4J New DigiStamps Released

Good day everyone! It's that time again...new digi images at DigiStamps4Joy on this day. Come visit DS4J shop to view the images and do take a peek here to have a see at my design teammates creations.

I have merged two lovely images on my card...
Elenor's Door and Misteri - I Care
Supplies: DS4I images, Copic Sketch, MS border punch, Carla Craft punch, sentiment from Ginger's House and others from my stash
I patiently cut the corrugated paper into bricks. The corrugated paper has been in my treasure box for 10 years and still looks good.
I like to make cluster of blooms and leaves from my old Carla Craft punches when I first started making cards some ten, twelve years ago. It was my signature style in creating and still am I think, lol.
This is a pretty door designed by Margaret Keiser inspired by one of DS4J dt members Elenor's trip to Chez Republic and took some photographs of the beautiful architectures and places...
...and another Misteri beauty by Jen Lee.

This card has been entered into these challenges:
1. The Crafter's Cafe : Anything Goes
2. Penny Black : Dies and Punches
3. Happy Campers : Bling
4. Addicted To Stamps : Lots Of Layers
5. Let's Create : Ch#74 Anything Goes

Relax

Hi everyone! I spent a moment last night doing housekeeping to ensure my laptop lives happily ever after, lol. I was quite panic when suddenly I heard a funny sound while using it. I was so worried if it 'crash'. I didn't think twice and headed to My Pictures to move many folders to separate hard disk and deleted a lot of folders at Picasa because I mainly use this program for editing. Minutes later, the cranky sound stop! Phew! Lesson learnt!

So, while going through folders to move and delete, I came across this layout I haven't blogged yet and would love to share with you. It was done in May during Let's Scrap NSD. This layout is about my youngest child Afza (2+ in 2010) waiting for ice-cream and the long wait made her sulky.
Supplies: MS border punch, Kaisercraft stamp and ink pad, Versa Fine ink pad, others from my stash

This "pick your menu" challenge is organized by DT Joyce. She listed out the menu and we pick what we want. I have chosen stuffed mushroom without knowing that is meant for oval shape which is not my cup of tea, lol. I think my handrawn oval isn't so bad after all but not sure if that picture is really oval, lol even though my eldest said it is.

My main drink is lemonade so because I don't have exciting citrus patterned papers I used citrus card stock and stamp it up. My side dish is baked bean and butternut squash so there are eyelets and flower. My dessert is handwritten journal "oval-ing' the picture and the title Relax someone gave me.

Unfortunately I forgot to add in my entree that is spaghetti with marinara sauce (I forgot twine/thin ribbons...sigh...I just got excited I forgot so I knew instantly I was disqualified, lol. It was a fun challenge indeed and the best part is I have finally scrapped the photo I printed two years ago. Challenges is one good reason to scrap pictures and use up the stash. Do you agree?

Here are some close-ups:

I love her sulky look :) Afza will turn 5 next month, time flies!

I'll be glad if you visit me again tomorrow for Sunshine Mail Foundation Blog Hop which I am their Guest Designer. I also hope you will take part.

Until the morning after...have a nice day.
Hugs and smiles,
