Mixed Media ATCs

Hello again! Happy Sunday from me and us the design mixed media girls at STAMPlorations. Yup, that means a mid-challenge showcase by the design team for today's Sunday Stencil and a reminder to get your anything goes mixed media makes to January Mixed Media Challenge by the end of this month.

I did a set of ATCs and when I showed my oldest daughter during our video talk, she asked me, "...isn't green not your favorite color?" Erm, I realized the projects I did lately have been in green shades and it's not even my favorite color {but I really adore green plants, chuckle}. For this project, I blended in some greens, blues, yellow and black. I bet this is going to be a group of colors I will use frequently throughout the year. We'll see.
A few close-up pictures:
 I love butterflies and like to have them in my creations. I stamped trendy butterflies using versafine onyx black ink on 200gsm acid free drawing paper and fussy cut nicely before I attached them over the black strings for additional interest.
 The uppercase alphabets is reverse die cuts from previous projects. I used the letters for some previous projects and keep the left overs for future creation like this one. I cut the piece neatly and glue down on thick card stock.
 I started to prime the three foundation with light gesso and let dry before I swiftly gave them brush strokes of Deco Art paints. I also left some yellow paint on certain spots for stenciling purpose.
 So I applied texture paste through crisscrossed stencil over the yellow paint to create random patterns just so the texture paste and yellow paint blend together naturally.
 Lastly I stick down three computer generated quotes. Usually I will distress the edges with black watercolor pencil but decided to leave it as is. Yes, it is what it is {smile}.
 That's it! I hope you find my ATCs inspiring and may help you get some ideas to create this week.
Should you are looking for new products at STAMPlorations shop, there are a whole lot of stamps, stencils and die cuts available at special price. Use my coupon code while shopping and gain more happiness.
Meanwhile, the monthly challenge is still running until 31st January so hurry up and play along. You can pick your own selection of prize if you are the winner and be sure to display the graphic below in your post.
 Until I see you very soon. Enjoy your weekdays.

Start Somewhere {A Tag Creation}

Hello crafty friends and visitors! How are your doing today? I am up and about now that I have gotten back my best buddy; my netbook precisely. Like I mentioned on my Instagram dated January 12, my best buddy didn't co-operate after I turn it on. It was cold and so was I {eeeksss}. Anyone who works from home definitely can relate to this situation. My most three essential equipment are my netbook, camera and tablet...oh, and tripod too. For all work purpose, I rely on my netbook. Basically I use tablet for IG and communication while on board. So when my best buddy fail to perform, somehow I was positive it must be the adapter's fault. Rest assured, it was after the pc guy had it checked. I must say that was the best day of my life this January! Thank God I can still use my netbook after purchasing a new replacement adapter even though it left a big hole in my wallet, sigh.

That's the reason I've been completely silence from blogging since my last post. Typing blog post on the tablet is my least favorite thing to do because it strains my eyes plus going back and forth for links to copy and paste isn't cool and eat plenty of time. I was not able to use my husband's laptop because he was outstation the week my netbook was under the weather...pfftt. So yeah, you bet I am a happy camper to be able to use my netbook right this moment. God is great! Life is back to good {smile}.

Enough blab. Let me now take you to this post that is long overdue. I created a simple mixed media tag as part of my DT work for Digistamps4Joy. Presently, the monthly challenge is running until the end of this month. As always the theme is Anything Goes and our dear Sami is hosting the challenge so she has a theme for you that is Your Favorite Color Combination as optional twist.
 I used Mandala 3 that you can get at DS4J shop. I printed the image to the size I want and cut it out.
 The quote is what I figured to be perfect for this month. After the long holidays in December plus the mishap of my netbook, it sure takes a long time to get back to making art work. So I just got to start somewhere, right?
 I just played with watercolors in the background after putting on a light coat of gesso and texture paste was used to form some diamond patterns through a stencil for additional texture. I didn't tie a string yet because I need to get that one I saw at the store. Problem is I didn't buy it the last time I went so maybe tomorrow I will go there again and grab it! I have other strings and ribbons so to speak but well, if you are like me you will understand the feeling, lol.
That is all for now. I look forward to see you at DS4J Mr. Linky before 31st January. Join us and stand a chance to win images from Margy.

Until then. Have a great day and thank you for dropping by.
Hugs and smiles,

Intuitive Art Painting

Hello everyone!
I am so excited to share with you my recent make for STAMPlorations and today I share with you how I did it in step by step picture tutorial.
Please head on to STAMPplorations blog for the tutorial.

I created an intuitive painting in a mini art journal paper bag with stenciling and stamping in the background.
I don't use many materials for this project; just some basic items, stamps and stencils from STAMPlorations shop.
 Stencil used is Circular Two and stamps from Trendy Birds 2 set.
Here is the full spread I'm showing officially right here. You may have seen the left page yesterday at January Mixed Media Challenge. Why don't you come along and play with us this month? You may stand a chance to win gorgeous prize. Good luck on that!
I hope you find my art journal inspiring and hopefully you find my 'follow your heart' painting interesting.

A little note, when you shop for stamps, stencils and dies at STAMPlorations shop, do mention my name at check out to get your special price!

Meanwhile we are having New Year Sale until January 15. Best to hurry!

Until I see you again next month with another tutorial. Have fun time creating and take good care.

Intuitive Art {Mixed Media} Painting

Hi friends! Sunday is here and that means show time at STAMPlorations. Today the mixed media design team brings you the first challenge this beginning month and as always, we want to see anything goes projects in mixed media form but no cards please. Take a look here for inspirations and ideas.

I have made a mixed media art journal painting containing products from STAMPlorations shop and this was done in a mini paper bag album. If you look closely, I didn't use scissor to cut the paper bag neatly but it was carefully tear up just so the edges are distressed naturally.

This post is showing you the left page of the entire art journal spread. I shall be back tomorrow with the full reveal and you will find out more of the making process.
 And more close up pictures:
 The sentiment is included in Trendy Birds 2 stamp set and this is satisfying indeed because the designs of birds are super trendy.
Aren't those flying birds in words pattern gorgeous? I love them.
 Suddenly I feel in love with these color combination {smile}.
 For additional pattern and interest, I chose Circular Two ARTplorations stencil with the help of texture paste.
I truly hope you like this little piece of art and my hope is you will spread your wings larger this year and continue to find more achievement and happiness in life.

Should you are looking for new products at STAMPlorations shop, do mention my name at check out for special price:

Till then. Have a happy Sunday and a good weekend.
Don't forget to come back tomorrow for the reveal.

See you!

Hugs and smiles,

Hope (Tag) @ STAMPlorations

~~~Happy New Year Everyone~~~
Let us all look forward to another awesomazing creativity this year and I wish you a whole lot of happiness and positive vibes your way.
How has it been so far on your end? As for me, I was wrapped up with school preparations with my three children on the final week of December. Three kids, one high school, one boarding school and one primary school with one same hope that is achievement! They started the new term on January 1 and let me tell you how fantastic that sounds because I am finally able to have my half day 'freedom' at home while my son and my youngest are in schools. As for my middle girl, she returns home every fortnight. Thus I am back to full time mother ... driver ... cook ... gardener ... artist??? designer??? Lol...
Let me now take you to my first post today for TAGplorations January challenge but first I wish to tell you how grateful I am to be a part of STAMPlorations design team and just like my tag says "HOPE" so I "HOPE" my designs will give you some inspirations along the way.
The challenge this month is about winter and you may add texture paste if you like for optional twist.
It's my favorite medium in my work that I can't reject {smile}.
You can make a tag on its own or any projects that include tag.
I used two different sizes from luggage tags nesting dies set to make this winter tag.
 I stamped two similar flower image from bloom factory stamp set in different colors for contrast then I cut them out neatly and stick them together before I glue it down on the tag.
Pssst, don't tell anyone that sometimes I can be a lazy crafter (tell me who doesn't, hihi)...so at first I wanted to attach a button or something in the center part of the flower but I was lazy to get up and get it you see.
So instead of putting the die cut letters just right at the bottom of the tag, I decided to spell them in the flower center. My son who was sitting opposite me said cool and told me to paint them red because they were white in the first place (white cardstock precisely). I did and red is more aggressive in order to achieve goal or whatever. What say you? Well I know I was lazy while creating this tag eh but I finished it aggresivlely nevertheless {chuckle}. Hey, did I just say red? Yes, it's my utmost favorite color but I seldom use it in my creations, ha.
 As the challenge speak winter theme so I used bubbles stencil to create circles designs to depict snow scene with splash of white paints for finishing touch. The use of drywall tape is just for additional interest and extra texture.
So there you have it, my first tag to kick start the year in one simple word - hope!
Don't forget to include this pretty graphic below in your post to be eligible for the price.
And a little reminder for special price while shopping at STAMPlorations, just mention my name:
 That's it! I look forward to see your creations at Mr. Linky before the month ends.
Have a pleasant January and enjoy your time always.
Hugs and smiles,
