Happiness {Art Journal} @ STAMPlorations

Hi everyone! Welcome back to my blog and here's me again taking you to mid-reminder January Challenges. The STAMPlorations' designers created stunning projects to inspire you and invite you to play along with the challenges we offer.

I did a quick and easy splash of modeling paste over bubbles stencil for January Mixed Media Challenge.
 A few close ups:
I stamped down framed solitary rose and colored with oil pastel crayons. You may notice the scribbles I did with black gel pen. Nothing special just something fancy.
You may think I used black gesso but I didn't. This is a page from a paper bag mini album turn into mini art journal. The paper bag is black and brown, cut into several same pieces hence the black page you are seeing here. I didn't apply a coat of gesso in the first place like I used to. I simply applied modeling paste through the stencil for bubble pattern and let dry.
To make more stylish (lol), I doodle the edges with white gel pen and finish it off with happiness sticker cut into each letters and stick them down.
That's it! I hope you get some ideas from my simple and humble art journal and hopefully it may attracts you to try your hands on mixed media challenge if you haven't already.

Grab this graphic and display in your blog post to be eligible for the prize if you are chosen winner.

And don't forget StampGirlAsmah will give you 20% discount at check out when you shop at STAMPlorations shop.

See you at Mr. Linky before January says good bye.
Wish you the best in January votes! Happy creating!

Let Your Dreams Take Flight & Farewell DS4J

Hi everyone! This is my saddest post ever written let alone adding the watermark to the photo below but it had to be done. Margaret Kieser has decided to step down from the digi industry and close her shop forever.

I shan't forget March 2013 when I received email from Margy offering me a spot to join her design team. I couldn't be more happier and accepted. I never leave her team and stay loyal until this day. Margy has always been a wonderful lady boss, understanding and easy going person. I adore her drawing skills and the many images at DS4J store. Sadly, all these are coming to an end this 31st January. I will absolutely miss DigiStamps4Joy and the wonderful ladies in the design team.

This is our last challenge and we invite you to join us for the last time. Winners will be announced on February 1st. Meanwhile, take a visit at DS4J shop and grab all digistamps at half price!
I filled up a page in my art journal envelop booklet with this less is more art journal artsy combined with printed digi images of fuschia drawn by Margy herself, some random stamping of leaves, watercolors, white gel pen and sentiment.
I absolutely find this flowers so beautiful that I wish I could plant them in my garden but unfortunately my hot weather doesn't allow my intention.
I patiently cut the flowers with very sharp scissor and glue down using pva glue.
Taking my creation into these challenges:
1. Crafty Creations: Ch#382 Anything Goes
2. The Crafty Addicts : Ch#56 Anything Goes
3. Words 2 Craft By : W2CB #61 Hope

Link up your project at Mr. Linky by the end of January.
Taking this opportunity to say thank you to all of you who have been merrily playing along in all our challenges.

Hugs and smiles,

It's A Girl Thing {New Release} @ STAMPlorations

Hi everyone! I hope you will love this special post as much as I do. STAMPlorations has just released two new stamp sets in the It's A Girl Thing series.

This is a mini hop and all you need to do is visit STAMPlorations blog and all participating designers' blogs. I can read you here if you leave me a comment {smile}.

You could be one of three (3) lucky crafters to each win a $15 coupon code to the STAMPlorations store. Commenting is open until January 31st. Winners will be announced on February 10 in the January winners post.
My creation used one cute flower I personally call it daisy and two sentiments from Its A Girl Thing: Kindness.
First of all I used Sizzix to cut two pieces of tags from ARTplorations Stitched Tags Nesting Dies.
I did the background on the tags by swiping some gesso, let dry, drop two color paints and spritz water to let them run wherever they like {lol}.
Once they dried completely, I stamped down the writing from STAMPlorations Framed Solitary Rose stamp  randomly to create interest.
I stamped few flowers on heavy card stock using Versafine black ink pad and patiently fussy cut each of them before I start arranging them for dimension and composition on the watercolor background.
Next I glued the tags down on black card stock. Then I cut the edges neatly with old school method: cutting knife, ruler and cutting mat.
If you look closely in the picture below you can spot my daisies are not neatly fussy cut.
{which I also just notice as I type this...😥...but hey this is art...
need no perfection eh...although I am a perfectionist 😜}.
And then...I finalized it by tying up the holes with jute. The end 😍
There you have it. One of many ways to use the new stamps.
You can find more loveliness designed by the participating designers:

Destination Art Journal @ STAMPlorations

Hey there everyone! Tine flies too quick this week when yours truly is super busy. My sixth day into the New Year has been tremendously hectic with catching up on housework and grocery shopping mostly. My goal tomorrow is sorting my craft stuff once again to downsize the maximum collection of papers and heavy duty cards I accumulate over the years. Let's hope I can achieve success 😂

On this day, I am honored to bring you the first Mixed Media Challenge at STAMPlorations.
My fellow teammies have came out with lovely creations to inspire you to make yours and join us before the month ends.

Okay I have to be frank here. I really have no idea why I kick start 6th day with mixture of now I am not so sure if this is supposed to be vintage or spooky in my art journal 😄😄😄 but nevertheless this spread is taking the negative mind to more positive attitude and happiness. Don't ever surround yourself with negative people but join the positive crowd.
More up close pictures:

If you play, make sure you include the graphic below in your post and link back to this challenge post in order to qualify for our prizes.
And never forget to remember that STAMPGIRLASMAH will offer you some discounted price when you shop at STAMPlorations.
I'm already excited to see your creation(s) at Mr. Linky and keep the coming to stand a chance of winning cool prize.

I shall be back soon. Thank you for dropping by and have a nice day.
