My Friend My World @ MHKDesigns

{My DT work for MHKDesigns}

Hello everyone! I'm so excited to share my latest Designer Inspiration card made for MHKDesigns. I used MHKDesigns digital stamp sets for this shabby creation.
I designed a less is more card which I hope will inspire you to create your card too.
I combined two digital stamp sets to create this card. The sentiment is from Rosy Elements stamp set and the beautiful blossom is from Get Well Soon stamp set.
A few close-up pictures:
I hope you find my card inspiring {smile}.

With All My Heart @ STAMPlorations

{My DT work for STAMPlorations}

Hello friends and visitors! Thank you for dropping by my blog today. It's my pleasure to bring you my newest mixed media art journal made as part of my design team project for STAMPlorations Sunday Stencil #85. My fellow teammates have designed wonderful creations for more inspirations here
 These pages have layers and layers of white acrylic paints. One because to rub off the dissatisfaction I did with stamping because I felt the placement was not okay. Two because my first intention was to create a faux encaustic art in the background.
 No pigments added to beeswax in this project as that is true element for encaustic art thus mine is absolutely a trial effort using the ordinary and easy to get tools such as gesso, modeling paste and acrylic paints besides tissue paper and recycle paper from sugar bag {the ones you see in hotel room for your diy drink ~ they are useful, aren't they?}.
 They give depth to the artwork, the tissue paper add texture if it is wrinkled when glued and its translucency is similar to wax. I used circular two stencil to run through the modeling paste and create random patterns. The trendy butterflies were stamped, colored with watercolors and Signo white gel pen was used to highlight the little ones with dots.
I decided not to leave the page empty but I didn't imagine I would add a story on self made tag either. I had it printed last year meant for card making so there, it sits nicely in my art journal now. What do you think?

Last but not least, I wish to partake in this challenge:

That's it for today. I thank you for dropping by and wish you a great week ahead.
Hugs and smiles,

My DT work for MHKDesigns}

Hi everyone! I'm a day late posting this; the scheduled post didn't work so I have to re-post. I could have done earlier but life isn't always a rainbow and flowery all the time. I fell restless on Thursday evening hours after being caught in the super heavy rain soon after the school annual sports day I attended ends. The sickness started taking its toll on Friday morning and by afternoon, the cold starts attacking with bad cough disturbing my sleep. Forced myself to wake up in the middle of the night for warm drink. The medicine and cough syrup made me stay in bed all day long and it continues all Saturday. No fun I must say but thankfully my children helped with housework and cooking. My middle girl was home and told me to rest. Sweet!

At this point of writing I am feeling a lot better with little cough yet unable to stay longer to browse the internet every time I finish writing a blog post. I like to visit places while online but anyway, I hope you will find this post interesting as I am taking you to MHKDesigns blog featuring a new digital release namely Rosy Elements & Rosy Posy Papers.

I created a layout by fussy cut some Rosy Elements  digi images after printing them. Here's another scrapbook page for my youngest daughter and I must say her two big sisters are tired looking at their little sister being the center stage in my layouts most of the time but hey, she loves mamarazzi unlike her big sisters who are bored already {lol}.
   I really adore this set which you can get here.
Please visit MHKDesigns blog on how to get this new set OR the entire release for FREE!
A few close-up pictures:
That's it for today. I will be back again pretty soon with art journal coming up next.
Have a great day.

Pitchers Tags @ MHKDesigns

{My DT work MHKDesigns}

Hi everyone! I'm happy to share with you another beautiful stamp set brought to you by MHKDesigns featuring the February Release that is available in the Etsy shop.
Pitchers often take me back to my childhood days because they were often used by my grandmother. Hers the china porcelain were of course antiques by now.
Since her passing, I never see her all her precious possessions anymore except memories and few valuables my mother inherits from her mother. What I like best is my grandmother's bougainvillea which is being taken with good care by my mother. I know that flower plant will always grow and give us oxygen to breath.

I jumped track, sorry so yes back to the pitchers. I made two flat tags so they can be used as a book mark as well.
Here is the stamp set that you can get for FREE.
Please visit MHKDesigns blog for details:

Here are a few close up shots:
I find the pitchers looks lovely in black and white sketch so I decided not to give them colors.
Thank you for dropping by and wish you a great time.

Mixed Media Art Journal @ DS4J

{My DT work for DS4J}

Hello friends! How is it going on your end? I just started to feel under the weather yesterday. It was starting to rain as I brought in a whole lot of laundry. Rain water is just not good on me. This minute as I type this I have slight fever and sore throat. I must not mention the body aches too, sighh. My husband told me he will buy take away lunch and dinner so I don't have to cook and just rest. I love my man so much!

Enough rant. Okay, let me take you to Digistamps4Joy right now. New images are released today here. They are stunning images drawn by Margy and Jen Lee. The design team created fabulous creations with hope to give you ideas on how to use the digi images in your creations.
I made an art journal using six pointsettia digi image which I printed and fussy cut.
I was highlighting the flowers by adding some black watercolors near them but wasn't aware they absorb the colors and ruin the flowers in a way.
Can you see that the black invaded the leaves? {{{Aarrgghh}}} I think, think and think how to fix it or should I print another pointsettia, fussy cut and glue down making it 3D?!
But I was lazy to do printing job again because it was done the day before and the printer was put back to its place. Are you like me sometimes, you know just feeling lazy at certain period or is it just me? Lol.
So, as you have maybe figured it out, I came with doodling idea using black gel pen and that itself highlights the flowers even more. I had so much fun doodling and scribbling away.
I love the success sentiment by Pablo Picasso which I am always diligent to find on internet, type it and print it. I love to have wise wisdom quotes a lot in some creations.
Doing the background was an interesting process. I love texture and to start with, I used a ply from napkin paper to paste on the pages using pva glue. Then I brushed off the napkin paper with homemade clear gesso and blow dry with heat gun. Next I highlighted some spots with white gesso. For additional texture, I cut lace fabric into small pieces and adhere on the journal.
The background was colored and splattered with watercolors.
When I was satisfied with the background, I focus on flowers composition. I kept changing them from one place to another to please my eyes.
Well what do you think of my flowers placement?
Three more close-up shots:
I sincerely hope you have enjoyed my lengthy post today and may you get a bit of inspirations to doodle in your art journal if you like that.

Dream Come True @ Digistamps4Joy

{My DT work for DS4J}

Hi everyone! Wish you all well, happy and healthy. So am I as I was able to weeding underneath my lovely yuca tree yesterday and continued a little bit more later before the sun started heating up. I am very much into gardening mood since last week now that the rain has stop falling allowing us sun ray and not to mention windy and dry season!

Enough chit-a chat. So it's that time again for a mid-challenge reminder at Digistamps4Joy February ChallengeThe theme as always is Anything Goes with optional Red for Valentine's Day. However I don't celebrate this day. Nevertheless I added red to blend with black and white on my mixed media card. Red is my favorite color I can't resist for this challenge but if you notice in many projects I did in the past, I hardly use red.
I  have no idea why {smile}.
For this project, I have used Fuschia digital image. Click here for this beauty.
I stamped leaves above the fuschia to make it more interesting and lively. I used Faber Castell watercolor pencils to color the fuschia.
 I added some punch leaves tucked underneath each other so the punched flowers can smile to accompany the beautiful fuschia. Besides hydrangeas, roses and orchids, I also love fuschias but unfortunately my climate is not suitable to grow them in my garden.
 The background was the first process to do whereby I cut strips of papers and adhere them randomly to create texture. I laid down pieces of drywall tape randomly as well. Then the piece was gesso-ed and blow dry with heat gun. Next process was applying texture paste through a stencil.
 I can't recall where the sentiment is from because I printed it long ago and never use until now so it does come handy and ready to use. I like!
 I used watercolors to paint the background by spritzing water to let it run all over the place but with control for sure {chuckle}.
 So there you have it. I hope I am able to inspire you today. The monthly challenge ends this 28th day so get your creation/s into the challenge link sooner.

Lat but not least, I'm playing along in these challenge:
1. Crafty Sentiments : Your Favorite Combo
