Today I'd like to share with you my brand new inspiration - a pair of mixed media ATCs. If you are my regular visitor, you are surely aware of my likeness to cut images into separation. Well this time I cut a piece of die cut frame into two pieces and stick on white card stock with gesso.
I used Bloomtangled #1 Cover Plate Die for this project. Then I carefully get rid the access from the fragile die cut piece with a pin and cut into two parts before they're glue down with light gesso.
I gave them some Deco Art colors using aqua brush and paint the flowers gradually. As I filled up the blooms with red, it took me back to my internship days as Broadcast Journalist for the local private TV station doing a television program at Karyaneka, an art center in Kuala Lumpur. I was shooting a Batik show and was given the chance to paint batik fabric. That was just the best day ever in my life. This instantly makes me feel like I'm painting batik ATCs {grin}.
I always find my project without black seems unfinished to me so I stamped half butterfly on each card and stamped the edges with artsy border maker for little decoration using Versafine black ink pad. Lastly I adorn my ATCs with sentiment stickers.
