November Challenge @ MHKDesigns

{My DT work for MHKDesigns}

Hello friends! I'm so excited to share with you a dt project I did for MHKDesigns November challenge and this is the final challenge this year.
The designers have created beautiful projects to feast your eyes and hopefully you are inspired to play along with us before the month end.

I made two tags with combination of digital stamps and some mixed media elements:
 Some up-close pictures:
The flower image and sentiments are from funky foliage and growing goodness digistamp sets.
 I printed a frame image from heaven heals and cut it into two pieces and glue them down.
 Are you inspired to play along with us?
You don't have to use the holiday theme this month as in the graphic below if you use any digi stamp set from MHKDesigns though.
 That's it for today. See you at Mr. Linky soon
Thank you for dropping by and I truly appreciate your visit this time.

Fill up you November with lots of fun and happiness.

Marvelous Junk Journal @ MHKDesigns

{My DT work for MHKDesigns}

Hello there friends! Happy October! It's so unbelievable but it's so right here, October that is! Each day in September was filled up with so many produce from kitchen stove to sewing machine let alone craft room...erm, no I don't have one. I always create from our one and only dining table and I often do hot mess on the table that the surface has become rusty. But I like that even though my husband wants to polish it and hasn't done as planned so meanwhile I love the table as is. And now I am hoping for the next 30 days, I can fill up each day with many doings. Fingers crossed!

Without further ado, let me reveal my art journal page made as part of my design team work for MHKDesigns October challenge.
 In my previous post, I showed you a junk journal thus this is no different. I used Get Well Flowers and Marvelous digistampsfrom MHKDesigns store.
 Let me say this loud and clear...this is not...I repeat...not my best choice of colors so to speak but for unknown reason, I seem to like it in the end...weird! I know art is one place to throw emotions onto canvas using paints and mediums and art is one place also to experiment. This is one of many emotions and experiments I did recently. Turn out I like it although not a full maximum kind of like...haha =D
 And I look again, I see something in my work here. I don't know what it is. Perhaps you can elaborate...I'm pretty lost now...but anyway the doodling is additional interest, something I rarely do but when I do, I scribble away without purpose. Just scribble :)
So there! Hope you like my artsy for this moment. I would love to see yours and perhaps you would like to play along with us this month. Get inspired by the picture below and apply what you love in it on to your creation(s) if you don't use MHKDesigns products.
That's it for now. I shall do my best to come visit you...erm, yes I hear you, there are so many blogs I follow and some I don't but love visiting when I'm able. I love seeing your art and craft. I love you sharing your work and creativity as much as I do. For that I thank you right from the bottom of my heart.

See you at MHKDesigns October challenge.

Sending Prayers @ MHKDesigns

{My DT work for MHKDesigns}

Hello friends! It's so wonderful to get back to blogging again after a hectic schedule the past weeks. I can't exactly remember what kept me busy after simple birthday celebration on the ninth day with my loved ones but life was crazy busy for sure I felt like walking dead at times, lol. Anyway, I did deep cleaning in the one busy week and sewing dress afterwards. The one big plan of all plans I never ever able to get to is gardening and re-potting because of continuous water droplets from the sky. Hardly do we ever get sunshine straight in a week since August and according to the weather forecast the rain will continue until November. Save the water bill but bless the dancing weeds eh.

Enough chat so let me now take you to my simple watercolor art journal I did as part of  my design team work for MHKDesigns. It's my turn to day to share my designer inspiration with you and hopefully you would spare a moment to use watercolors over digital images in your project.
 This project is a junk journal made up from one shopping paper bag. I shall have a tutorial coming up on this project soon and will let you know when it is ready to share with my readers.
So far I have filled up three pages already. This used digital stamp set entitle Get Well Flowers that is available at MHKDesigns etsy store
 The background has a thin layer of homemade texture paste made from pva glue mixed with water and baby talcum powder that gives lovely scent on the page. I applied the texture through a stencil to get some random diamond shape.
Towards the end of the mess that dried up, I sprinkle white paint for additional interest. This has become a habit I must say {smile}.

I'm taking my project in these challenges:
1. Mix It Up : Anything Goes
2. Craft For The Craic : Autumnal Colored
3. Crafting With Friends : Anything Goes

That's a wrap for today. I shall have more posts lining up beginning October 1st so do visit me again. Thank you for dropping by and have a good rest.

Mixed Media Tag @ MHKDesigns

{My DT work for MHKDesigns}

Happy September! Welcome to another monthly challenge at MHKDesigns.
We bring you fabulous digistamp vintages images in our creations to give you some inspirations. Take a peek here to see what my fellow design teammates have made using MHKDesigns digistamps that are obtainable at the store.

I made a tag using combination of some mixed media elements in the background and highlighting the flowers with contrasting colors from the shades of brown.
 For this project, I used two digistamp sets, Birdcage Silhouettes and Get Well Flowers.

 I printed some flowers and fussy cut to adhere on my the background with pva glue. I like using this glue a lot in all my projects.
 I glued down a piece of gauze when I started the process to create pattern and texture as well. Then I applied modeling paste through a stencil as always.
 I used Faber Castell black watercolor pencil to outline the edges of the flowers and sentiment before I blend with water using aqua brush. This way I try my best to cover the fussy cut edges so they don't look so obvious to the eyes.
 I should have taken a picture of the actual completed tag without the drip and splash of white paint. So just imagine that the background was in shades of brown and a bit of black here and there. I was not satisfied after reaching its completion and need to whiten it so it doesn't look dark. The twist of additional white watercolor paint pleased me very much.
 The challenge ends at the end of this month with a photo inspiration but if you use products from the MHKDesigns store, you can link up ANYTHING!
What do you think of this photo inspiration?
I wish to play along in these challenges:
1. Mix It Up : Ch#5 Anything Goes w/ optional twist In-Laid Die Cut
2. 613 Avenue : Ch#201 Atg w/ optional twist Distress It

That's a wrap. I look forward to see your participation in this month's challenge
at Mr. LinkyUntil then, wish you a happy September and
thank you for dropping by.

{My DT work for MHKDesigns}

Hi friends! I am so excited to share with you the newest vintage digistamp release by MHKDesigns at the store today.

Sassy Sayings include four images and five sentiments. I used all four images in my creations:
I decided to leave the images as is because I think the women look fabulous that way.

Marvelous @ MHKDesigns

{My DT work for MHKDesigns}

Hi there friends! My second post for today is a mixed media art journal using MHKDesigns newest digistamp set released today.

This beautiful flowers come along with several sentiments in the set. Click here to purchase the stamp set at MHKDesigns etsy shop.

I created a minimalist mixed media artwork in my journal and I hope you find it inspiring {smile}.
Here's the stamp set up-close:
A few close up shots of my art journal:
 The sentiment is so true. What say you?
 I did a very attentive fussy cut with this image. Yes it's very delicate.
 Yes you guessed right dear! All my artwork in my journal book is upside down as you can see the text in this book pages are the other way round. I purposely get the text involve this time by not cover up the pages with heavy gesso; it's just for extra interest. My oldest sister, Lili gave me some old books from her former office that meant to stay in the bin forever so why not she gave them to me to re-purpose and recycle.
I wish to get this project into these challenges:
1. Try it on Tuesday : In My Garden
2. Love To Create : Ch#16 Anything Creative/Mixed Media Goes
3. Digi Designs : Flower Fancy
4. Art-Journal-Journey : Poetry In Motion

That's it for now. I shall be back again with a mixed media layout in my next post.
Stay tuned and have a wonderful day.

Hugs and smiles,
