{My DT work for MHKDesigns}
Hello friends! It's so wonderful to get back to blogging again after a hectic schedule the past weeks. I can't exactly remember what kept me busy after simple birthday celebration on the ninth day with my loved ones but life was crazy busy for sure I felt like walking dead at times, lol. Anyway, I did deep cleaning in the one busy week and sewing dress afterwards. The one big plan of all plans I never ever able to get to is gardening and re-potting because of continuous water droplets from the sky. Hardly do we ever get sunshine straight in a week since August and according to the weather forecast the rain will continue until November. Save the water bill but bless the dancing weeds eh.
Enough chat so let me now take you to my simple watercolor art journal I did as part of my design team work for MHKDesigns. It's my turn to day to share my designer inspiration with you and hopefully you would spare a moment to use watercolors over digital images in your project.
This project is a junk journal made up from one shopping paper bag. I shall have a tutorial coming up on this project soon and will let you know when it is ready to share with my readers.
So far I have filled up three pages already. This used digital stamp set entitle Get Well Flowers that is available at MHKDesigns etsy store.
The background has a thin layer of homemade texture paste made from pva glue mixed with water and baby talcum powder that gives lovely scent on the page. I applied the texture through a stencil to get some random diamond shape.
Towards the end of the mess that dried up, I sprinkle white paint for additional interest. This has become a habit I must say {smile}.
I'm taking my project in these challenges:
1. Mix It Up : Anything Goes
2. Craft For The Craic : Autumnal Colored
3. Crafting With Friends : Anything Goes
That's a wrap for today. I shall have more posts lining up beginning October 1st so do visit me again. Thank you for dropping by and have a good rest.
Hugs and smiles,
Life sure does get busy from time to time! This journal is awesome sauce! And even better that it was made from a paper shopping bag. That's upcycling at its best. Your texture and homemade paste are splendid and so fun! I like the ending results with the splatters as well. Fantabulous creation!
