The Story Of My Life {TTCRD Challenge 4-10 August 2015}

{My DT work for TTCRD}

Hi there friends and welcome to my new followers Suchi and Catarina...I'm always tickled pink every time I get new followers whom I consider as my new friends. Thank you ladies!

Today we at Through The Craft Room Door brings you new Anything Goes fortnight challenge. Kindly visit TTCRD blog and get some inspirations from the Design Team A. My fellow teammates and I were  given the honor to use cardstock
sponsored by Paper Temptress
is offering a Winner a $20 Gift Certificate to their Store!

I end up making mini album which I've been meaning to do for so many years but never get the chance to really do it if you get what I mean.

I made this album for my middle daughter Anis who wants a simple design and reminded me to leave some pages for her to fill them up herself. I have to say simple is not my comfort zone, lol. She doesn't want me to mess it up with ink and paints so I had to discipline myself and used ruler, knife and punch front to back {chuckle}.

Here's my project:
Each cardstock has lovely name. They are Mother of Pearl Vellum, Cryogen White, Heavenly White #80, Cordovan Leather, Laser Silver Lustre Text, Grapesicle Pop Tones #100, Opal Mica/Metallic, Retro Silver Lustre, Black Laser Lustre Glossy and Aquamarine Mica/Metallic.

I used all of them to adhere on all 24 pages front to back.
 I'm looking forward to see the pages filled up by Anis with her handwriting (and mine too) as well as tags she's making this weekend. I'm so happy she loves her mini album so far and would love to help her out and finish it off for her own keepsake.
I decorated some pages and here's two pages I did to insert her baby photo.
I hope you get a bit of inspiration to go ahead with your mini album if that's what you've been planning to do all those years just like me, lol.

Thank you for stopping by my blog this day and wish you a great week.

I see you when I see you. Cherio.

Hugs and smiles,

Altered Pizza Box, Sunday Stencil & Mixed Media Challenge @ STAMPlorations

{My DT work for STAMPlorations}

Hi everyone! Happy Sunday! And that brings you to Sunday Stencil #5 and August Mixed Media Challenge at STAMPlorations blog

I altered this pizza box to fill in a travel mini album {still in the making, smile} for my niece birthday end of September. So I have ample time to make her the album. Zahra' and her parents went to Korea in July so I thought it would be neat to present her a travel theme gift for her 16th birthday.

At first I wanted to make it shabby chic but decided a vintage style would fit the paper collection better and I'm very happy with the end result.
 Supplies used: STAMPlorations Foiled Again StencilSTAMPlorations Artsy Border Maker Stamp, Versafine black ink pad, Kaisercraft Now Boarding Collection, Alpha gesso & modeling paste, Tim Holtz Distress ink pad, Tattered Angel glimmer mist, Sizzix machine, Heartfelt Botanical Wings die, watercolor paints, black gel pen and from my stash: gauze, gem, buttons and kitchen slip mat for stamping
Some up-close snap shots:
 What do you think of this project? I hope it gives you some idea to decorate your pizza box or whatever box you have.

 This was how it looks like in the first place:
I shall update you when I have finished the travel album.
Until then. Have fun stenciling and join the mixed media challenge here.
You have until August 31 and enter as many project as you like.
See you there!

Heading off to these challenges:
1. Paper Artsy : Topic 14 Flowers

Art Journal Tutorial @ ARTplorations

{My DT work for ARTplorations}

Hello everyone! Whenever I start doing a journal page, the one thing that I deal with is texture. I must have texture to begin with and I just go with the flow afterwards. Seldom do I plan the style I want, it's never in my head because many times it doesn't work as planned. One thing for sure, texture is plan number one.

 Supplies used: Bubbles ARTplorations StencilArtsy Border Maker STAMPlorations stamps, Versafine black ink pad, Micia brown ink pad, Alpha gesso &  modeling paste, watercolor paints, Sharpie black pen, black gel pen, white gel pen, serviette tissue, butterfly punch and alpha stamps

 I love making background and this piece of paper end up being heavy duty after adding serviette tissue for texture and coated with gesso.

 While waiting for the background to dry, I draw six petal flowers on a piece of old text book, cut it out, painted and let dry under the sun. Then I doodle the flowers and adhered on the page.
This is the background after I finished playing with colors.
There is a step by step of the process HERE at ARTplorations and a full list of stencils and stamps products which can be sourced at STAMPLlorations Store.

I'm taking my project into these challenges:
1. Mixed Media World : #5 Stencils

Thanks for visiting. Have a good week ahead and happy creating.

Hugs and smiles,

Wood Decor @ STAMPlorations

{My DT work for STAMPlorations}

Hi there! I'm thrill to show you my first home decor designed in mixed media style using Weathered Wood stencil. First let me say that I love nature and besides my love for bricks, wood grain is my second love! Or should I say I love rustic look in my house.

I wanted to make this extra special by adding yellow roses because I wanted to give this to my Mother for her birthday last July 17 who loves roses. She was delighted to receive it and ordered me to hang it on the wall at her porch and made me feel proud {chuckle}
Supplies used: Weathered Wood ARTplorations Stencil, Alpha gesso & modeling paste, watercolor paints, scallop die from my Ausralian friend and from my stash: yellow roses, micro beads, lace and gauze
I used watercolor paints to bring in the realistic touch on the wood grain paste and sprayed brown mists to get the look. I did it several times to achieve what I wanted and feel satisfied with the end result.
So this was the original piece of wood I bought some three years ago and keep hoard it in the dark drawer until I gave it life to my heart content {smile}. That is just a piece of paper with pretty flowers adhered on the wood. I didn't want the picture but the wood {lol} so I altered a bit and created my own summer touch with blossoming flowers.

Take a look at STAMPlorations blog to see two other fabulous creations by my teammates. I hope you will like our projects and inspired to create mixed media in your creations.

I would like to take my project into these challenges:
1. The Mixed Media Challenge Blog : Summer Days
2. Mixed Media Place : Exercise #10 One Important Word
3. Berry71bleu : Use Die

Until I see you in a moment of time with my next project:~ a mixed media art journal step by step tutorial.

Have a good day.

Flowers Feed The Soul {TTCRD Challenge 21-27 July 2015}

{My DT work for TTCRD}

Hi everyone! I'm back from holidays hence my silence. I had terrific time with my family celebrating Eid Mubarak with my dear Mother, my five siblings and their families at my parents' house as well as fabulous moment with my in-laws. Often this is the occasion when all of us get to meet and catch up with news, even sleeping on the floor is not an issue as long as we get to hang around, doing things together, sharing fun and laughter.

Unfortunately, a day after I return home, I was caught with stomach problem that made me the most frequent loo visitor due to diarrhea. No fun at all, seriously! As of blogging this minute, I feel somewhat better again. Thank goodness.

So now let me bring you my card creation designed for Through The Craft Room Door's Anything Goes challenge that is still going on this week. My fellow teammates have created wonderful items to inspire you as well.
 We are sponsored by talented Lisa Decosse the owner of Decosse's Dynamite Doodle who does marvelous designs in kit form. All the supplies I used for this project can be read in the upcoming TTCRD online magazine. Interested? Click here to find out more about subscription. .
  Thank you for visiting me today.
Until then, see you again soon.
