Spread The Wings... {TTCRD March 3-9 Challenge}

Hello everyone! I'm back again after two weeks off from blogging and crafting so to speak. It wasn't blue sky and everything nice on my end when I was down under the weather. Once I felt better, I cleared the clutter at one corner that I've been wanting to sort out. Glad it's done and so happy to walk on the floor again {yippee}. I'm the kind of girl who cannot do any craft project when the house is messy. It's too hard to focus when one eye is seeing mess or just a cobweb hanging over the wall {chuckle}.

Today a new fortnight challenge starts at Through The Craft Room Door and as always our theme is Anything Goes. Come along and join us and stand a chance to win prize from our sponsor That Craft Place. They have gorgeous images in the store and one of them is Betty Boots as you can see on my card here:
Supplies: Betty Boots image from That Craft Place, Copic Markers, Alpha Markers, Sunlit butterfly punch, Micia brown ink pad and stamp, Memories black ink pad, patterned papers: Lost & Found and Eno collection, stickles and pearls

I would love to take my card into these challenges:
1. Feeling Sketchy : Sketch #116
2. Whoopsi Daisy : Add a Sentiment
3. Bunny Zoe's Crafts : For The Girls
4. The Shabby Tea Room : Pop of Pink

Looking forward to seeing your creations at TTCRD blog. Until the morning after, take care and have great days ahead.

Hugs and smiles,

Because I Care {TTCRD Feb 17-23 Challenge}

Hello there my sweet friends! Wishing everyone good health and happiness in whatever you do. I am still not feeling well, getting sicker and sicker, it's been over a week or so. Yesterday I came down with running nose and sneezing. Thanks to the person who invented Kleenex; I ought to get another box. I must not mention sleepless nights the past week, must I? I feel terrible. Looks like I should consult a doctor again land see if he can prescribe me a better medicine to cure this inner cold fever and ugly haggard looking face of mine every time I sneeze and clean the nose, urggh.

Despite the sickness, ironically speaking one needs to rest but this is how I rest by doing my artsy hobbies or reading and like now, writing my blog. It's hard to just lie down when the mind is working. Maybe I need sleeping pills {teeheehee}. I was up since 4am reading and answering emails, Facebook and now feeding my blog at 5.12am and at the same time going back and forth to the bathroom to clear the blocking nose, yikes, disgusting but we all face this horrible sickness when it kicks in. No fun!

Aaarghm enough blab. Let me show you my new creation I did as part of my DT job for Through The Craft Room Door. Our theme is always Anything Goes. Yes, you can make anything you like and send to blue froggy linky at the blog by February 23rd.

Here's my card:
 Supplies: Digi image 'Vanity' from The Paper Shelter, Kaisercraft patterned papers & sentiment, Copic Sketch, Alpha Markers, Carla Craft leave punch, Micia brown ink pad, black gel pen and pearls from my stash.

We are sponsored by The Paper Shelter who will be giving out $15 gift card to the winner! You might like Vanity the pretty peacock I used on my card. So what are you waiting for? Time runs too quick most of the time so better hurry and you could be the winner!

I will be back again with other creations. Thank you for visiting me today and wishing you all the best life has to offer. Adios!

Hugs and smiles,

Sisterly Love (Digistamps4Joy Challenge #109}

Hi everyone! I'm back again with my new layout I did as part of my DT work for Digistamps4Joy. My fellow design teammates from Team B love collaborating with each other in using DS4J images in our designs for your inspirations. Please visit DS4J blog to have a closer look.

This month's challenge is all about Valentine or Love hosted by Julie Odil. The challenge runs until 28 February and you can make any paper projects using any digi images or rubber stamps.

I have used two digi images: Wisteria Splendour and Birdhouse to create a scene on my layout. I hope this will inspire you to design your layout or any projects using digital images because you can size the images to your heart content. There are variety of interesting digital drawings you can choose at DS4J shop.

This is a layout of my two girls when we spent a day at Cameron Highlands in 2010 during Anis's pre-school excursion. Because a chaperon must come along, I brought Afza so my other half can take care of the other two school kids. While we had lots of fun picking and eating strawberries, visiting the tea plantation and enjoying the cool breeze on the high land, the ones at home had jolly good time after school watching a movie at the cinema and eating out! A win-win situation huh?
 Supplies: DS4J digital images, Kaisercraft patterned paper/stamps/wooden flourishes/rub-on/stencil, Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist, Webster's butterflies, Copic Sketch, Tim Holtz distress pen, Carla Craft punch, watercolor, Alpha acrylic gesso and texture paste, alpha stamps, alpha felt, pebbles and flowers from my stash

Some up close photos:

My inspiration comes from Scraps of Darkness February Inspiration Board Challenge. This is the first time I enter their challenge!
 I am inspired by the rustic door so have colored the door image with Copic and tried my best to make it rustic. I'm such a sucker for shabby style so distressed the designed paper to please myself and created an English looking garden. I also love that nest and instead of creating one but opted to add in the birdhouse image. Those flowers are just so beautiful thus I chose some shades of paper flowers to adorn the Wisteria Splendour hanging over the front entrance of the brick building made from texture paste.
I am a sketch person and loves the sketch from C'est Magnifique which I rotated to design my layout. Finally I get the chance to partake in their challenge also for the first time!
Lastly I added some small pebbles to make a pathway. I used pva glue and they are doing fine there so hopefully the pathway will stick on forever.
I am excited to see your work in this month's challenge at Digistamps4Joy. Until next time, take care and have beautiful moments always.

Dreams {Finnabair: Sparkle & Shine}

Hi everyone! I am not feeling good these days probably due to the extreme hot and humid climate since the arising of the New Year. That however doesn't stop me from creating. I took a moment to make this canvas work I've been meaning to work on for so long. When I saw Finnabair: Sparkle & Shine blog hop and challenge a couple of weeks ago, I thought this would be an opportunity to step out of my comfort zone because I am not really a sparkle and shine kind of person. Believe me, I don't even wear my gold and diamond wedding ring!

 I set to work yesterday evening and considering this is my first canvas work for my sister's birthday present, I hoped all goes smoothly because time was running. I had intended to make a layout but changed my mind because I would like her to place it on her desk at work because she spends all day long there and only comes home to sleep {chuckle}.
Supplies: canvas, acrylic gesso, acrylic modeling paste, gauze, lace, handmade flowers, seed beads, flower charms, rhinestones, faux pearls, Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist, Tim Holtz distress ink, Brilliance ink pad, Carla Craft leaf punch, water color, gold paint,

  As the process took off step by step, I wasn't sure what I was doing! I do not have many of the products the dt ladies used {I mainly used some of the things in my stash}. I swear I visited their blog many times to oohhh-ing and aahhh-ing their stunning work to get some inspirations.

The creations by Finnnabair's design team are so gorgeous and very inspiring:
 Some up close photos:
That is my sister Lili in her early 20's during a cultural show at Universiti Malaya where she studied geology yet active in the culture society in campus. She had no idea I stole and crop her photo that being kept in a dark box for years. I figured it would be more appropriate to display her charming smile on a canvas so she can look at it while working and reminisce the old times once in a while {smile} without distracting her too much from working that is {hihi}. I decided to leave the white space around the photo to let the eyes rest and admire the 'dancer' for a while {lol}. Well, I really hope she will like it!

Thank you for dropping by. I am so glad to have your visit and until then, may all your dreams come true.

Hugs and smiles,

Follow Your Dreams & TTCRD {Feb 3-9 Challenge}

Hi everyone! It's time for another challenge at Through The Craft Room Door {TTCRD} and as always the theme is Anything Goes. My fellow teammates at TTCRD have designed various inspirations for you and looking forward to your participation this week.

I have come out with a page of my little one when she was almost 4 years old. I have printed the photo some two years ago but never find the right mojo nor perfect paper. When we at Team A were sponsored by Fitztown with some gorgeous digital images, I fell in love with the roses name Valentine #12 and knew they would look beautiful on my layout {click here if you wish to purchase}.
 Supplies: Digi Image Valentine #12 by Fitztown, Kaisercraft patterned paper & stamps, Heartfelt sentiment stamp, VersaFine black ink pad, Tim Hotlz distress ink pad, Micia ink pad, Carla Craft punch, Sunlit punch, watercolor, twine, gauze, texture paste, gesso, drywall tape, black gel pen, my trusty sewing machine, blooms  and lace from my stash
I used watercolor for the digital images. I'm really a big fan of roses! Some three years ago I purchased a pot of yellow roses and gave to my Mother who adores roses too.
My choice of colors was inspired from a moodboard from Scrap Around The World. I love the shades of green, such dramatic earth colors, the yellow flower in the girl's hair and the tranquility of each picture to create a dreamy layout for my little girl's album.
I knew I needed a sketch to work it out so when I found a sketch by Denise at Scrap Africa, I couldn't resist the temptation to combine both challenges.
Some more close-up photos:
 I sparkled up the blooms with gesso and tucked in gauze.
 I enjoyed fuzzy cut the printed digital images with precision knife then applied watercolor and put under the sun for super quick dry.
A quick and short but meaningful journaling from mother to daughter :)
Oh! I must share this story when my sister Lili, our children and I went shopping at The Pavillion in Kuala Lumpur last November. We spent {{{maybe}}} an hour at Daiso; too many stuff at MYR5 each and very crowded as well. I can't stand the crowd but took my time eyeing for something I may not get at my place. From row to row I looked up and down, left to right and my eyes narrowed down to a roll of brown paper twine! It's not what I was after but pretty much an intention! You see, the day before while relaxing on a couch in Lili's living room, I borrowed her Japanese craft book and 'read' it front to back.....oh yes in Japanese but I only understand the step by step photos. I saw how lovely a wreath made with brown twine adorned with little pink roses. That's why I bought the twine and Lili asked me, "...that is what you bought?" I smile nodedly. Ha, now she can read my answer {smile}. And last month while visiting my in-laws in the capital city, I found Daiso! I am so thrilled they have opened up a new branch near my place now. {So thankful}!

I am glad you stop by today and thanking you so much for visiting me. I shall be back soon and meanwhile, happy creating and don't forget to submit your creations to TTCRD blog by February 9.
And a few more challenges I entered:
1. Digi Sketch : Any Sketch & For The Girls
2. Imagination-Crafts : Always Anything Goes
3. Scrapbook Stamp Society : Anything Goes + Option Thinking Of You/Valentine

Until I see you again. Have a nice week.

You Make Me Smile & TTCRD {Jan 20-26 Challenge}

Good day everyone! It's so hot and humid where I am. I wonder how the weather is like at your place? Hoping you are in good health and enjoying the ending of January in ten days more. Hey, where did the time go I wonder. Aaah, enough blab, {smile}

Moving on to my favorite subject is this layout I designed for Through The Craft Room Door (TTCRD)'s newest challenge. The theme is Anything Goes starting today until the 26th day this month.
Supplies: Digi image 'Whootie Owl Set', Kaisercraft patterned paper 'What A Hoot' collection and stamp, Copic Markers, Alpha Markers, Sunlit circle and flower punches, DMC thread, VersaFine Onyx Black ink pad, Micia brown ink pad, Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist, Antique Stamp alphabet, rhinestones, handmade paper rosettes, drywall tape and my trusty sewing machine.

 Our sponsor this week is Limited Runs and I am thrilled to be given the Whootie Owl Set digital images to create my project. Click here for the cutest owls ever!
I used a beautiful sketch by Heather Waldron to create this page. If you are sketch lovers, take a peek at Heather's sketch designs at Home & Scrapped.
Here are some close-up photos:
 Last month I bought three different sizes of circle punches so been playing wild with them making rosettes since then. Previously I used circle cutter and that took longer time. So please don't be surprise if you keep seeing me making paper rosettes because I have gone crazy at the moment {chuckle}.
 I love using the alphas above. My recent toy as well.
 I love stitching and had the urge to sew the trees by hand to make it pop.
So there you have it from me this time. I hope my layout inspire you to create your own using digital images. I look forward to see your submission at TTCRD.

Off I go into these challenges:
1. Home & Scrapped : January Sketch
