Guest Designer @ Try it on Tuesday

Hello friends and happy Tuesday!

I am very honored to Guest Design for Try it on Tuesday challenge this time around.
Thank you so much Avril for inviting me to your wonderful blog challenge.
It's my pleasure to create something special for their challenge theme which happens to be my favorite "Add A Quote". Yes, I am a quote lover and use them a lot in my creations.

I created a mixed media card with combination of clear gesso, modeling paste, watercolors, machine stitches, stamping, stenciling and doodling. I love combining things and finalize it with details till satisfaction meets happiness {chuckle}.
 A few close-up shots:
Go and live your dreams guys and stay happy.
That's it for today. Until  see you again soon.

Thank you for dropping by and wish you all the best in your undertakings.

Birdcage Silhouettes @ MHKDesigns

{My DT work for MHKDesigns}

Hello friends! How is everyone doing? I am feeling so much happiness today because I have a special guest at my house for a few days and she actually came and volunteer herself to help me with my edible gardening and of course I tag along besides cooking her favorite meal which she enjoys so much. For a 70 years old woman, her gardening skill is amazing but what impress me most is she is fast and energetic!! Yes, she is my mother-in-law and I wish she could stay longer but she also has her own edible garden to look after so she will leave tonight. I will share my garden post next so to garden enthusiasts, don't miss it {smile}.

Okay enough blab, here's sharing my shabby chic card I designed for MHKDesigns April Release.
 Some close-up pictures:
 Isn't that a gorgeous sentiment? Click here to see more.
That little birdie is totally black but it gets her white eyes from randomly splashed white paint so I feel that the paint dropped at the right place {smile}.

That's it for today. Until I see you soon.
Have a blast weekdays.

Artsy ATCs @ STAMPlorations

{My DT work for STAMPlorations}

Hello everyone and happy second Sunday of the month.
Sharing my make today is a pair of ATCs once again designed for STAMPlorations Sunday Stencil #91. Susanne Rose, Sanna and I bring you our inspirations through our art work this time.
You are seeing butterflies on my end this month because firstly I love them and secondly we at STAMPlorations is having a special Things With Springs blog hop that runs until the end of the month so do not miss the fun and win stamps, dies, and gift certificates.
 I started the background by applying blue and yellow tempera paste over semi dry clear gesso but it didn't work and dry nicely the way watercolor does. It's my first experiment so I learnt. To fix it up, I patiently dry it up with heat gun. Mistake learnt! Never use tempera paste on semi dry clear gesso...maybe it's just me but you can try and see if it works. No harm trying eh {smile}. Even the Trendy Butterflies stamp from STAMPlorations I used agree with me :)
When completely dried, I started highlight the background with watercolors. That is just my must thing in my projects {chuckle}.
I applied modeling paste through Retro Circles ARTplorations stencil and stamp the sentiment using Art Is STAMPlorations stamp set.
I hope you like my art work this time and may you get some inspirations.
Until next time. Thank you for dropping by.

Hugs and smiles,

And Many More @ MHKDesigns

{My DT work for MHKDesigns}

Hello everyone! Many more is going on in my life today and the relief part is everything is under control {phew}. Eventually I was able to pull some weeds on my lawn, cleared the back space and thrashed away unwanted items in the backyard. I think I may need two weeks more to have a beautiful well kept garden but I must say gardening is a continuous process and maintaining it is a real challenge.

And so this is my second post of the day. This month we have a new release of five fabulous digital stamp sets at MHKDesigns Etsy Shop
Today MHKDesigns brings you And Many More digistamp.

Here's my card creation with hope to inspire you:

Owh, the birthday cake tells me that my son will soon celebrates his birthday next Saturday. He's pretty excited about it. I have no plans yet but I know I will cook what he loves.

Well that's it for today. Take care and happy crafting.

You're sure to be inspired and we would love for you to join us by creating and linking your own spring projects -- anything is welcome as long as there are wings in it -- butterflies, dragonflies, birds, fairies, bugs, bees, pterodactyl...anything that flies, really!

We have fabulous prizes to be won and I am sure you wouldn't want to miss a chance because you could be the winner. Visit this link for details and have a see at the designers fabulous creations to be inspired.

I created a pair of Artist Trading Cards with the gorgeous Trendy Butterflies 2 stamp set.
 The background was created by applying modeling paste through ARTplorations Circular Two stencil and let dry before watercolors took place.
I decided a minimal element used for a less is more concept for this creation.
This is how it was in the beginning:
 I applied clear gesso and placed down a ply of tissue serviette for texture. Then I swipe modeling paste through a stencil.
Isn't the colors below look gorgeous? I often use Alpha watercolors and this project is no exception. To create rustic look,I simply used the combination of these four colors.
The finished product once again:
Taking some inspirations to create from these challenges:
1. Berry71bleu : Mood Board

~~ooOOoo~~

Well I hope you will find my ATCs somewhat inspiring and to your liking.
Thank you for hopping over to my blog today.
Happy creating and link up your project with this graphic:

That's it for now. Have a happy Wednesday and enjoy your day.

Timeless Memories @ STAMPlorations

{My DT work for STAMPlorations}

Hello everyone and happy Sunday!
Second day of April and enjoying the sound of raindrops. How is it on your end?
Today begins a new monthly challenge at STAMPlorations.
As always, it's Anything Mixed Media Goes except no cards creations please.

I created a shabby artsy mixed media layout using combination of different mediums and elements. I have made a lot of scrapbook pages of my loved ones but never the six of us altogether because family picture is never easy to snap. Either one makes silly faces or one is not ready during photo shoot. This one was taken during our holidays last year and to capture the memory, I placed the camera on two pillows and set the self-timer at ten seconds so I had time to run to my position {chuckle}. Even so, it took three shots to produce this {to me I think is} best picture eventually and yes, everyone was at her and his best presentation with pleasant smiles. Otherwise, I'm always behind the camera so thanks to self-timer or to the modern generation who call it we-fie {smile}.

Here are some up-close photos:
I used two ARTplorations stencils: Plaid Marker and Delicate Links to create the textural background using modeling paste.
 I am butterfly lover who often have them in my creation. I used a cute butterfly stamp from STAMPlorations Trendy Butterflies stamp set.
 The flowers are made by me during my free time. I find flower making is always very relaxing to me. I added beads and glitters in the center part.
 I did a bit of hand-stitching near the edges for additional interest by using my DMC threads for my cross-stitch projects in the past. A hobby I still love doing but keeping it at bay for now.
 Layers and lots of layers...I love bulky layers when I do shabby-chic designs.
I love details and usually finalize my finishing touch by taking more attention in certain areas where I can add more so I tuck in buttons, gauze, sequins, punched leaves etc to make it more interesting or in other word, satisfying.
 I had a little tough time writing down my feelings on clear gesso-ed layout. Either my gel pen wasn't cooperating or the surface wasn't smooth with a layer of clear gesso.
Splash of white paints towards the end. I love doing it so much.
The white gate from Prima Marketing finally gets her special place on this layout which I kept in a box for some five years perhaps {??}.
 I used Kaisercraft patterned papers and sentiments and the rest are from my stash to adorn the family photograph of me, my husband and our four blessings.

I used this lovely sketch from Scrap Club to kick start my work:
A few more challenges I play along at:
Archi-scraps : Sewing
Mixed Media World : Anything Goes (2nd entry)

That's it for me today. I hope you get some inspirations from me and will create a mixed media project to play along in our challenge.

Thank you for dropping by and see you soon.

Funky Flowers {Art Journal} @ MHKDesigns

{My DT work for MHKDesigns}

Hi friends! Wishing you a day of happiness and productive weekend. I am having wonderful moments with my three children at home and doing crafts mostly on a wet Saturday. Yes it pours after lunch and that is normal nowadays. No gardening for me for a week now and you bet the weeds are growing again...sighhh.

Because I have not set my foot in the garden for a period of time, I decided to create a blossoming jungle in my art journal. What d'ya think?
I started by applying clear gesso and when dried, I used texture paste through stencil to form some flower patterns. When done, I let dry and started playing with watercolors my most favorite medium.

I printed some Funky Flowers digistamps and glued them down before I decided on red paint to highlight them as the main subject to portray a courageous woman.
I'll be glad if you take a hike at MKHDesigns blog and play along in the April Challenge.
Here is the photo inspiration for this month so that anyone can play along:
However, if you use products from the MHKDesigns store, you can link up ANYTHING! Mynn Kitchen has kindly gave away a FREEBIE card front that you can use to play along this month. Click here to grab your freebie.

Challenges I entered:
1. Crafts Galore Encore : Ch#40 Anything Goes
2. Crafty Calendar : April Showers / Spring
3. Di's Digi Designs : Add Some Texture (my 2nd entry)

That's it for today. Until I see you again tomorrow with a mixed media layout.
Stay happy my friends.

Hugs and smiles,
