Happy Happiness @ STAMPlorations

{My DT work for STAMPlorations}

Well, welcome to first Sunday of the month; a day I love to relax and read or should I say the other way round{chuckle}. If you think I am writing this post this minute, nope. I scheduled this post for Sunday on Friday night because I have agenda going on all Saturday at my eldest's boarding school.

So, welcome to another episode of Stamplorations. That is correct. A new mixed media challenge starts today and as always it's anything goes except NO CARDS please.

I made a scrapbook page of my middle girl celebrating her 5th birthday in 2009. Time flies!
I used crisscrossed ARTplorations stencil and texture paste to create diamond pattern.
I sprinkled glitters even though I am not a fan of glitters (lol).
The square frames are altered from library cards spread with texture paste and water colored.
I started off this layout by referring to this lovely sketch #130 from Scrap Club and flip it upside down.
Look forward to seeing your none cards mixed media creations by August 31 and please display this graphic below on your post to be eligible for the prize if you are the winner.
Until I see you again real soon. Take care.

LOVE brings you HOME @ Scrap Africa

{My DT work for Scrap Africa}

Hi everyone and here's wishing you a glorious August. I'm back again with newest layout. I can't exactly remember when was the last time I scrap; I think it was early June. Time pass by so quickly and we are living in August already?! So what did I do in July besides fasting in Ramadan and celebrating Eid afterwards that is coming to its end this week and also fighting eczema; yes, I did a lot of sewing and decorating the house. So I would say July was dedicated to spring cleaning and home decorating. It's a never ending process however. I keep changing things around the house. Do you?  Maybe I should do a blog post about home decorating. What d'ya think? Suggestions are welcome {smile}

Enough blab, lol. Here's another scrapbook page for my youngest child. She's always thrill every time I make her one even though she question, "Me again? Why not them?" referring to her big sisters and brother {chuckle}.
This month challenge at Scrap Africa is based on this mood board.
Pretty huh? I like the color combination between blue and purple. I simply focused on these two colors on my page. We would love to see your creativity here using this mood board before the month ends.

Here are some close- up pictures:
I used many scrap papers for layers from previous projects. Papers are so expensive and I can't bear throwing the tiny bits...
 My all time favorite Carla-Craft leaf punch used to punch some leaves and colored.

 The beads from my bead work and will soon sew beads and sequins on my eldest's dress that is in the making.
{hope to finish a.s.a.p because we will visit her at boarding school this Saturday being a meeting session between parents and teachers on report card day respectively to discuss about her academic progress and mid-year examination results she had recently...sounds no fun to any pupil I bet, lol}.
 I love distress ripping off the burlap for additional interest; something that drives me nuts if that happens while sewing {bahaha}.
 The more layers the merrier, think I've said that many times before.
Overall, I didn't use many elements to decorate my page this time; just some flowers and butterflies to adorn the page with some beads, gems and buttons. I wanted to highlight the layers more with watercolors and gesso afterwards.
I used this lovely sketch from Creative Club to kick start my page:
Until I see you again soon. Have a great time living life and take care.

Hugs and smiles,

Altered Creation @ STAMPlorations

{My DT work for STAMPlorations}

Hello everyone! Hmm, this post didn't go on schedule yesterday, I have no idea why so without further ado, here's clicking publish to share a project with all of you. This is made in very simple steps from gesso-ing to modeling paste to decorating and coloring.
There are more gorgeous mixed media creations to see at STAMPlorations blog.
Click here for more loveliness from my teammies.
So what is special about this craft? Well, this is an up-cycle creation that will return to its owner. My niece visited me last month and had eaten some potato chips in the car during the five hours journey. Upon arrival, her mother brought in a box of food and the empty Mr Potato canister sat in the box too. Looks clean and pretty, my brain told me something!
I love giving new life to things that I think okay for upcyling and recycling.
For this project, it stared with all shades of blue colored in the beginning, I changed to red.
Hopefully my niece will like it (the color).
That's it for today. Until I see you again soon. Take care and have a good day.

Summer Ice Cream @ Markers! Papers! Digis!

{My DT work for DS4J}

Hi there friends! Digistamps4Joy is participating in a 3-day Hot Hot Summer event in the Markers! Papers! Digis! Facebook Group. Lots of prizes to be won, and this image - Summer Ice cream" - will be available at half price only $1 from 29 July to 15 August for the coloring competition on Facebook.

Margaret Kieser the owner artist of Digistamps4joy is in the spotlight over at Markers! Papers! Digis! She is offering this adorable digi for $1. It's called Summer Ice Cream, and is a re-release of one of artist Jen Leeflang's works.

I love this cute image and made a shabby card.

 The image is printed on a drawing paper and colored with Paper Mate color pencils. Then I fussy cut with sharp scissor and cutting knife a well. Lastly I adhered on the layered card.
Okay, have to be honest with my coloring, lol. I did a major spring cleaning prior Eid Mubarak last month and many craft stuff of mine are packed into boxes for a while so we can move things around the house and me sewing curtains at the same time. When the celebration is over, my Mother, siblings and their families bid us farewell. Slowly and surely I started cleaning up and opening the packed boxes. My girls have a new 12 cubicle storage in their room which they let me share to place my craft tools along with their books and comics. I just love looking at my display for hours; like a kid in a candy store you know {chuckle}. I know you have the similar feelings too {smile}. So.....only when I was about to color this sweet image couple days ago, I can't find my box of Copic markers! Oh man!!! That's why I borrowed my middle girl's color pencils for this project when I can't even locate my own watercolor pencils I just used the other day {what is wrong with me?? lol}. Speaking of extreme spring clean huh?!
 Taking this card into these challenges:
1. Feeling Sketchy : Sketch #149

That's it from me today and off I go to have choc ice-cream! Enjoy your weekend and happy creating.

The Cutest 'Paper Bag' Art Journal Mini Album @ STAMPlorations

{My DT work for STAMPlorations}

Hi there friends! Today I have a mini project I am making for my grand nephew who turns 1 recently. It's going to be a mini art journal photo album made from brown paper bag and this is one of the probably ten pages to fill up the mini album. I shall be sharing other pages from time to time as I blog and at the same time waiting for more photos from his grandma {my middle sister}.
I used two different stencils from Stamplorations to create the textural background after applying two coats of gesso. Firstly I used Peonies All Over stencil and after it is dried I used Dots All Over stencil.
 I punched some Kaisercraft patterned papers and adhered randomly on the page.
 Cute sentiment for a young boy eh? {chuckle}
 I stamped the butterfly from Trendy Butterflies stamp directly on the circle and used white gel pen to make some dots on the left wings for interest.
 After all the texture and watercolors are dried, the paper bag becomes super heavy and somewhat sturdy. That pleased me all right because I was quite afraid in the first place if this project will ever get torn in the long run. Later when all the ten pages are completed, I shall add tags in every pocket and go with the flow.
I hope you like my project for today. My fellow teammies have also created their gorgeous projects at STAMPlorations blog today. Click here to have a see.

If you have created a project that use stencil/s, why not submit your work at STAMPlorations July Mixed Media Challenge and be a winner!

I wish to take my project into these challenges:
1. Craft Stamper Magazine : Take A Stamp July Challenge
2. Country View Challenges : Have Fun With Circles

That's it for today. Until I see you again soon.
Thank you for dropping by and have a nice Sunday.

Love Art Journal @ Digistamps4Joy

{My DT work for DS4J}

Hi everyone! How are you all doing? I'm doing good and slowly recovering from the heat and eczema attack on both my legs {no fun I tell you because at times my feet become swollen and the the skin becomes dry and crack that makes walking somewhat painful}. Still I'm grateful I can still walk although slow and have been applying creams without fail and not to mention the 'itchy pills' to prevent me from scratching but puts me to sleep faster and longer {chuckle}.  Despite the health issue, I had the most happiest moment after having spent a week with my Mother, my sisters and their families at my house to celebrate Eid Mubarak on June 6. Normally we return to my Mother's house for the celebration but for the first time Mom breaks her own history to leave her house and travel some six hours in the car to my house for Eid preparation and celebration.

I can go on blabbering about it but let's move on to my creation today that is designed for Digistamps4Joy and this is also to remind you that we are now in the middle of July so you have roughly two weeks left to get your creation into our monthly challenge before the month ends. This month my fellow teammate Debbie is hosting the challenge and she would like to see some dies or punches in your paper project.

I did an art journal using stained glass roses image. Click here to take you to DS4J blog to have a see at the design team's creations for more inspirations.
Some up-close photos:
I hope you like my work this time and hopefully it gives you some inspirations to play with watercolors in your creations.

Until I see you again in the next couple of days, take care and have a nice day.
