Hi everyone! Today's showcase is all about my new layout that holds a special place in my heart. Firstly the picture that keep many memories during our year end holidays with my Mother at her home. Secondly the hydrangea plant my mother, my children and I planted together in Mom's garden last November. My Mother and I love hydrangeas but mine is not as huge as hers. Perhaps some day my hydrangeas will bloom like Mom's.
This layout is based on a mood board and sketch from Scrap Around The World blog challenge. I believe this is my first attempt at mood board and I just love it. I have so many ideas and want to use them all up but I am satisfied with my page filled with handmade paper hydrangeas as that's my focal point. I also flip the sketch to feed my mojo :)
...some close-ups...
I'm happy to share my secret tips...sshhh, don't tell....seriously, this is for someone who wish to have this and that but not now, not yet...oh well, but hey don't despair. Because that particular MS flower punch is still in my wish list, I have used my old Carla Craft punch instead to make the hydrangeas...ta-da...the recipe is patience plus creativity...
By now you may notice my love for bricks. Most the time I use corrugated papers to make faux bricks, this time I used gesso by several stokes of brush. Dunno where I keep my bricks stencil so I did it free hand ;)
It's smooth handwriting over the gesso...perfect!
Supplies: Webster's pp, MS border punch, Carla Craft punch, Ranger's distress ink, Brilliance ink pad, VersaFine ink pad, Kaisercraft butterfly stamp and wooden flourishes, Prima flowers, Gesso, alphas, my trusty sewing machine, black gel pen, fancy edgy scissor, and others from my stash
I have so much fun designing this layout. I wouldn't have done this without SATW's beautiful sketch and the gorgeous bouquet of flowers on the mood board.
I am glad you stop by today and hope you find some inspirations from my tutorial. Truly appreciate your visit, thank you.
Hugs and smiles,
