Mixed Media ATCs @ Digistamps4Joy {New Releases}

{My DT work for Digistamps4Joy}

Hi there and a happy Sunday! Mine has been great from morning attending curriculum day at my girls's school. It was sort of mini carnival and whatever we buy and pay for using coupons, the money will go to the school fund. I love such good cause {smile}. So of course when we got home at nearly 3pm, having no maid {duh!}, I tackle the kitchen first then brought in the laundry to fold and put away accordingly in the wardrobe {relief...phew}

So here I am now taking a break to show you my recent creation I did as part of my dt work for Digistamps4Joy new releases at its shop today.

The design"B"team has created wonderful cards at DS4J blog for your inspirations. Here are three ATCs made in mixed media style using the image named My Wardrobe. Click here to purchase.
 I used 200gsm acid free drawing paper adhered with scraps of patterned papers then gesso-d lightly. Next I applied modeling paste through Kaiser craft stencil for more pattern and texture. Then comes my favorite part playing with colors by apply three different chalks and blend with water to produce watercolor effect. This takes a while until I reach satisfaction before I finished off with black paint for more depth.
This gown looks so elegant. What d'ya think? I adhered black thread, mesh and beads using PVA glue {see that white thing near the beads? It took a moment to dry}. I always apply sealer over the surface when it is completely dried. I will do it tomorrow because I've run out of spray sealer {duh!}. Soft matte gel works just fine if you have it.
For this ATC below, I dig out my sewing box and thought the button and some ordinary stainless steel fastener would make a pretty flower, lol.
Lastly, I got enthused with flower making and made another bloom with button and sequins. All the dresses were colored with watercolor pencils. I used two sizes of bottle caps to stamp the circles for interest.
I hope you like my Artist Trading Cards and hopefully they inspire you to make some. Oh! One more thing, this is my first ATCs! I've been meaning to make them but often asked myself what would I use them for {chuckle}. Maybe I shall join ATC swap some day? Perhaps give away? Or use it as my business card? Erm, use it as tags in future mini album? Would love to get your recommendation and ideas :)

Until then. Have a great week ahead and stay positive.

Life, Love & Home at Scrap Africa

{My DT work for Scrap Africa}

Hi everyone! How have you been? I'm fine, other than my regular schedule, my kiddos keep me busy with their school activities and final examination just around the corner. I'm also in the sewing mojo the past one week and shall be sewing a dress for myself to wear on my daughter's graduation day this coming Thursday. Pretty excited about that {smile}.

Back to artsy talk, I completed a layout recently based on a mood board from Scrap Africa. This time I chose to scrap my niece walking in the park. Every December my children and Zahra' get together at my parents spending year end school holidays; the only moment we get to hang out because of the places we live in are miles apart to see each other often. We had fun time that afternoon last year wandering about at this green sight nearby my parent's home.
Supplies used: Eno Greetings patterned papers, Sunlit border punch, Alpha gesso & modeling paste, Sizzix die and machine, Sizzix leaf stamp, Kaiser craft stamp, Versafine onyx black ink pad, Micia brown ink pad, Tim Holtz distress ink pad, mesh and gem

Denise created this pretty bloom and interesting color pallets to challenge you this fortnight. I also love the quote by Jim Carrey. Yes, I want to be like flowers, they don't worry {me either} about how their petals {my days} will look like when blossom {my days to be day to day}, they just grow {I must just move on...but with plans, hope, dream and prayers to be included too...lol}.
Some up-close pictures:
I love layers; the more the merrier. Because I go for shabby, I distressed the edges using blunt scissor.
Taking my page to C'est Magnifique because I just love the sketch by Djamila Khiter {thank you}:

I look forward to see your work at Scrap Africa mr linky by 31st October. Until I see you again, have a blossom day.

A passport to freedom {Digistamps4Joy Mid Challenge Reminder}

{My DT work for DS4J}

Hello there! I'm bringing you my newest art journal made as my design team project for Digistamps4Joy current challenge. Here's to remind you that the challenge has begun on the first day of this month and will finish on October 31st.
The challenge theme is everyone's favorite ~ Anything Goes and the twist is "B". The "B" can be butterfly or baseball or just anything that starts with "B". Please mention in your post "B" item/s you use.

My dear team"B"mates created fabulous paper craft to inspire you. Come visit us at DS4J blog for your viewing pleasure. Here's my art journal that use mostly "blue" colors and stack of "books". Like the books? Click here to purchase.

 Supplies used: DS4j digi image, STAMPlorations Honeycomb Delight stencil, Buncho watercolors, sentiment from Ginger's House, black gel pen, paper scraps and rubber stamp from my kitchen (anything goes)

This is the digi used to create a stack of books on my page:
 From the way I stacked up the books you can say how much I love books and reading...
as well as education. Hence the quote by Oprah Winfrey whom I admire.
I hope you like my art work this time. Looking forward to see your creations at DS4J blog. Happy crafting.

Take a Chance, Hope & Believe {TTCRD Challenge 13-19 October, 2015}

{My DT work for TTCRD}

Hi everyone! Here's sharing my recent creation as part of my design team work for Through The Craft Room Door. We bring you the latest challenge, Anything Goes that's for sure!

My teammates' beautiful cards are in display at TTCRD blog {current challenge} for your viewing pleasure and inspirations.
I hope you like my fan card too:~
 I am inspired by The Hop To Stop hosted by Becca Cruger to make this card into shades of purple. Yes, it's all purple in the blogosphere that Becca is doing to create awareness regarding Domestic Violence. Just yesterday I did a purple art journal to show my support for this great cause and wanted to make a card as well. There's still time if you wish to partake in the hop {ends tomorrow}.
 I love making this fan card, it's my third make so far. The tutorial is available here. All the supplies I used can be read in the upcoming TTCRD magazine. Click here if you wish to subscribe.
I look forward to seeing your new creations at TTCRD blog.
See you when I see you.

"Be Bold...Brave...Strong" ~ The Hop To Stop

Hi everyone! I thought I would share with you my little girl's remark on my project this time, lol. She asked, "Only purple? Okay, a bit black and white. Why purple? No other colors". She knows I often have colors on my project {smile}. So, why purple?

My dear friend Becca Cruger is doing a fabulous hop to raise awareness for Domestic Violence. The support she gets is just phenomenal from sponsorship to crafty friends who show great support.

Becca's words:
You see, purple is the color of National Domestic Violence Awareness month.
1 in 3 women will experience domestic violence over the course of their lifetimes.
Let that sink in - 33% of all the women you meet.

And women aren't the only people who are affected! Women, men, transgender - gender doesn't matter. Domestic violence is something that exists regardless of gender, socioeconomic status, religion, education level, etc.

I finished my art journal yesterday and while working on it, I can't help thinking of the unfortunate women I watched on television news or read articles about their unhappiness; even some participants' stories who joined this hop nearly made me close to tears. One part of me feel sorry for them and the other part tells me how blessed my life has been. Can be kind of emotional rather, can it?

Here's my art journal using a quote from Ginger's House. I also adhered Webster's butterflies which I often use in many projects. I have always liked the butterflies from beginning, and always find it so fascinating whenever I fussy cut them {such a joy!}. I love to see them fluttering by on this page as a symbol of freedom.
Thank you Becca for doing this and reaching out to help others and highlight this issue.
Time is running but if you get a chance to join the hop, feel free.

You Are The Smile To My Face @ STAMPlorations

{My DT work for STAMPlorations}

Hi everyone! I'm back with my recent layout I did as part of my dt work for STAMPlorations. A new mixed media challenge begins today and you can do anything you wish except card. My wonderful teammates have designed fabulous creations to inspire you {click here}.

I made a single layout of my little girl jumping onto raked leaves while I was doing my garden. I have four topiary trees on my lawn that needs pruning every three months. So no they are not fall leaves so to speak, lol. We don't have four seasons but however my favorite season has always been autumn because the atmosphere looks so incredibly gorgeous. When Afza played with the pruned leaves three years ago, I thought it'd be great to take photos and pretend autumn {chuckle}. Finally I get to scrap her photo and she loves it.
Supplies used: Foiled Again ARTplorations stencil, Artsy Border Maker stamp set, Heidi Grace paper collection, Alpha gesso and modeling paste, Scrapberry: flowers, leaves, butterflies, adhesive pearls and gem, Petaloo flowers, Kaisercraft rub on, Buncho watercolors, alpha stamps, Micia brown ink pad, corner punch, EK Success funky fibre and others from my stash {beads+sequins+lace+gauze+rhinestones+eyelets+drywall tape}

Some close-up photos:
My autumn inspiration comes from Scrapki-wyzwaniowo:

This stunning sketch at Scrapclub Kiev is used as a guide for my layout:
And I also wish to enter Scrapberry's challenge. I used part of the quote as title for my work:
Meanwhile, take a peek at STAMPlorations for more awesome designs and challenges and stand a chance to win stunning products:
Thank you for dropping by and wish you a great week ahead.

Be{YOU}tiful @ Scrap Africa

{My DT work for Scrap Africa}

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing great. I'm so under the weather and it's no fun. Thanks to the haze that never seem to go away even after some rainy days washed out the blurry sky and gave us some beautiful blue skies and sunny days but sadly I believe the wind from the southern region blew the haze up north and we are back living in hazy situation. As a result, my eyes start to feel painful and the body aches for two days now. Today I have slight cold, running nose and feel lethargy but life has to go on between rest {smile}.

Today I bring you my recent layout of my little girl Afza when she was 3 years old. An old photo in 2010. She's now 7 and attends primary school already. Time sure flies huh? I miss her babyhood and toddler memories so much. Sometimes I tell her not to grow...she says "Okay" so sweetly. Lol!
Supplies used: Kaisercraft patterned paper+stamps+alpha.stickers+die.cuts, Alpha gesso and modeling paste, STAMPlorations stencil, Buncho watercolors, black gel pen, Versafine onyx black ink pad and pearls

 Denise made this great sketch for Scrap Africa. I think it's challenging! All those pretty circles had me think for some time what to create on my page. I love circles a lot and end up playing with them with stencil and die cuts. I just played with the patterned paper collection to develop similar color tones on this page by fussy cut the flowers and leaves from one patterned paper and adhered on the other. Thanks Denise for the sketch.
Some close-up photos:
I wrote a little message for Afza that I'm sure she will appreciate some day {smile}.
I'm looking forward to seeing you paper related creations at Mr Linky Scrap Africa before deadline (October 14).
Until then, have a pleasant weekend.

Hugs and smiles,
