Hello everyone! The party continues at STAMPlorations blog hop today on Day Four.
We are all in a party mode and we are sure you will join us to congratulate Shery on 4 fabulous years.

My first card showcasing In-Bloom: Fancy Frangipanis stamp. I started off the background by using texture paste through Peonies All Over ARTplorations stencil. When dried I begun water coloring process as always. I colored the stamped flower with water color pencils and Alpha markers for the leaves. I really adore the beauty of frangipanis; so gorgeous!

Next is a mixed media tag with texture paste usage through Merry Go Round ARTplorations stencil in the background and giving it tones of colors with water color paints. The new product I used is Blossom Sprays 1 stamp and colored with water color pencils.

Hello there! I've been so busy these day I just need to slow down and perhaps stay a resort holidaying to free the mind, lol. Wishing everyone a great day. Same here, alhamdulilah.

It's my turn to host the Designer Inspirations at MHKDesigns blog.

I created a shabby tag with minimalist mixed media element in the background.

Season's Greetings Tag @ MHKDesigns

Hello everyone! Welcome to another episode of MHKDesigns newest digital stamp set release. Today we bring you Season's Greetings that is available at MHKDesigns etsy shop.

I made a tag with vintage texture in the background. I used modeling paste to create snow effect through polka dots stencil. What d'ya think? I also decided to leave the image without coloring because it already looks great to me.

This release brings you two beautiful images accompanied with three sentiments for your crafting projects.

Intuitive Mixed Media Art Journal @ STAMPlorations

Hello friends! Welcome to the 100th Sunday Stencil project at STAMPlorations. Today I bring you my project that was made without plan and just go with the flow. I must say that many of my artwork has no actual plans. I just create and let my hands play with watercolors and will only stop when the brain steps in to decide a stop or continue.

For this art journal, I did it within an hour time frame while chatting with my girls. No full concentration on the artwork; hands working, mouth talking and the mind mingle ☺; hence intuitive.

 The background didn't use a lot of process; only clear gesso spread  and air dry followed by stenciling using texture paste through Layered Petals ARTplorations stencils and let dry and continue chatting away with girls {lol}.

 I started dropping some light brown watercolors from the top part and spritz water to let it flow. When dried, I brush off light gesso near the stenciled pattern and blend both gesso and watercolors lightly for natural look.

 Next I used Happy Flowers ARTplorations stencil to create some flower patterns by dabbing red and pink watercolor paints using sponge over the stencil.

 Using Happy Flowers ARTplorations stencil once again, this time I create some embossed flower patterns with texture paste over the stencil. I decided to go for subtle colors so leave them as is without coloring except highlighting the edges with tan watercolor pencil and water brush. The butterfly was stamped on drawing paper and cut out for coloring before I glue it down.

Lastly I adhered strips of quotes and giving the edges a black tone to highlight them. I love quotes very much and this one is just so cool.

Flutter & Fly {Art Journal} @ MHKDesigns

Hi all! Wishing all of you the best of health and happiness in your every day life adventure. I'm doing pretty okay with my plans so far especially the on-going sewing of baju kurung, kaftan, pillow sheets, and drapes. I just looked through a book on how to sew children's attire which fascinates me to give it a try. The step by step pictorial tutorial looks like easy although my understanding is blurry somewhere, hehe. I will make time to find good You Tube videos and study on how to sew a children's dress. My model will be my youngest girl. She is pretty excited about it. If anyone can recommend me a good video, I will appreciate it so much. 

Enough blab. Today let me walk you into second release of the month from MHKDesigns and this time is all about butterflies namely Flutter & Fly available at MHKDesigns Etsy Shop.

I have used all the three butterflies images and one sentiment in the stamp set to create a vintage looking art journal that uses mixture of watercolor paints and coffee altogether. 

Isn't the images and sentiments look gorgeous in this week's release?

A few close-up:

 I created the background by applying texture paste through a square links stencil after giving the pages with a coat of homemade clear gesso for easy flow of watercolor paints mixed with black coffee. I only used two shades of red and blue watercolors for this project that is layered with plenty of colors one after another until I feel satisfied. The black coffee simply darken up the colors creating earth tones especially brown here and there.  

 All I did was just playing with the colors and coffee; let them mix, flow and absorb. I let it air dry for a while before I doodle the butterflies antenna. Also highlight the edges of these creatures with light gesso.

Father's Day Mixed Media Card @ MHKDesigns

Welcome to mid-year! Happy Thursday friends! I wish you lots of happiness and joy this June. I have had great time this morning attending my orchids with my oldest girl. I managed to re-pot eight pots of different orchids. My mother gave me her orchids from time to time because she believes in me to take good care of them even though she knows growing orchids is not my cup of tea although I love gardening but who would have thought my love for orchids simply grow by watching Mom's greatest passion for orchids over the last forty years of my life.

So today I have a new creation made as part of my design team work for MHKDesigns June challenge. Take a peek at MHKDesigns blog to see the designers' gorgeous creations using MHKDesigns digistamps and digipapers you can get from the shop.

I created this card which is commissioned to me for father's day that is just around the corner here in Malaysia which is celebrated in June after Mother's Day last month.
