Happy Times - Smile

I spent last Friday morning cleaning the cabinet but got carried away when side track kicks; I was just looking through family photo albums and after calculating the number of pics, I jump with happiness! I found nine photos that match the requirement of Cheri O'Neill's sketch for the weekly challenge at Let's Scrap. Saves me the plan to snap pics that weekend.

Here's the sketch:
I chose two patterned papers in the beginning but after third thoughts, I changed my mind and dig out for bright colors bazill cardstock to go along with the playground. The only patterned paper used is for for the journal. I need lines to write on :)
Materials:
pp - Kaisercraft
cs - Core Color
ink pad - VersaFine, Tim Holz distress ink
stamp - Kodomo No Kao
chipboard - gift from friend
title - Momoyo puffy stickers
ribbon - Momoyo Craft Ribbon
others from my stash
I made the flowers from cardstock and adhere a button with ribbon knot.
This is a joint venture effort! I wanted to adhere self made flower here but as I adhere some buttons on the rest of the corners while watching entertainment program on tv (multi tasking, that's me!), suddenly 'Alyaa pop up with her creative idea adorning this corner with flower button design. Cool! Thanks sweetie! I know I can always count on  you {smile}.
Making a layout on school break gives the kids a chance to see what I do at home because most of the time I scrap while they're not around! The girls were bored so I said, "Ok, help me paint!" I showed them how to use crackle paint on this chipboard frame. They got so excited but asked me, "Mom, why the paint doesn't crack so much?" "Erm, okay, it's been in the drawer for 5 years, never mind, we'll get new crackle paint next week!" After we let it dry, I sponge it up with some red ink.
I had printed the journal in the first place but the end result wasn't a satisfaction due to inky problem; need to get new ink cartridge, oh well. First the crackle paint now the print matter - this layout really challenged my patience! So, I selected a 6x6 strip patterned paper so I can write the story on straight lines! I can never write accurately on blank papers :)
The year was 2002. This is my eldest daughter 'Alyaa at age 2 and her cousins Noor and 'Aisyah at the playground nearby my parent's home. We often take the kids there when we come home. My husband did great job capturing them in different angles. After nine years, finally I get to scrap these memorable photographs on a layout especially made for 'Alyaa. Can't believe she's already 12! Time sure flies.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a nice day!
Hugs and smiles,
